Vanakam Sir... I am from Malaysia... following your teaching methods... very much useful and feel very thankful and grateful to you... pls do continue.... You are a blessed soul...
sir. I have a different opinion. In this Alarippu the 2, 3, 4( i hve been taught the fourth speed also) speeds of "tham dhi tham thei tha thei " have the same pattern . Only the first speed is different. I think " ki da tha ka " is only a link. and the mistake is where the "dhi tham" and "tha thei" is placed in the first speed. In 2,3,4 speeds we are saying "tham _ _ dhi tham_ thei _ _ tha thei _". But in first speed we are saying " tham _ dhi tham _ kidathaka" . In roopaka talam "tham _ dhi" comes in the first avartana or thalavattam so in second avartana "tham" comes and the gap is filled by "kidataka". If we follow the same pattern in 2,3,4 speed , "ki da ta ka" won't be there in the first speed. ie. In first thalavattam only the "Tham _ _ " comes and in the second thalavattam " Dhi tham _" comes.
Thanks for your reply . However my opinion differs. All the remaining 4 jathis of Alarippu, namely Chaturshra , Khanda , Misra and Sankeerna have the sylables “ kita thaka “ . Then why should we remove it from Thisra Alarippu , especially when it has been used in the vilambita ( slow ) speed. As per me , if kita thaka has been used in all the 4 Alarippus , it should and can be used in Thisra also. If we are not using it in Thisra , then we can remove from the remaining 4 Alarippu also or else the format of Alarippu will be different.
In sankeernam we are using tharikitataka and also the in second speed the cholkettu is changing. In mishram the first two speed uses kitataka and in third speed we are using tharikitataka. In khandam kitataka is not used in the third speed. According to me " tham dhi tham thei tha thai," is the main cholkettu and the kitataka , tharikitataka are used to fill the gaps. One more point I want show you that , for these kitatakas and tharikitataka we are not doing any adavus except in the chaturasra gathi.
