  • I have never made a spa bar or salt bar with actual ocean water before. I had so much fun making this cold process soap! It is wonderfully lovely!
A salt soap won't have the big bubbles some cold process soaps will have, they have a silky luxurious lather that is so decadent - I love them so much! LOL. This is scented with Salty Mariner from BeScented.
    Recipe:
    Coconut Oil 50%
    Olive Oil 31%
    Palm Oil 10%
    Shea Butter 3%
    Caster Oil 6%
    Use a 15% lye discount/superfat
I used Ocean Water for the Lye Water and another 8.7% (of whole recipe) sea salt

He, he, perfect, you made me giggle. Your soap looked fine as you cut it, I cut after about 2.5 hours and it's still really warm, sometimes with a gell ring just like yours, I just stack them back together again. I have an odd routine for mine, I stack them on top of each other, so the weight of them keeps them all snug, drape a tea towel over them and then put a cute bobble hat over the top, to hold it all together, it makes me giggle every time, hmm I wish you could attach photos to comments. I bevel mine the next day and they're fine to bevel then

That's a good idea to stack them together - the bobble hat is classic 😂 - wish you could attach a pic too, love it!! Thanks for the tip on beveling the next day - I was just a nervous wreck with doing these in a loaf mold for the first time hehe.

I so enjoy watching your channel! You are so very genuine and REAL. It really makes me feel good to know that we all can just create, have fun and try new things and not worry who is "looking over the shoulder" so to speak. Very glad you popped up in my list that one da😄

Looks like a lovely soap, I havent made brine soap, but do live by the ocean, so might try it. I have done Himalayan soaps just recently.

How did you use the Himalayan salt? Did you mix it into your soap at trace? I have not tried using that before.🤔😊

I just use it the same as you used the extra soap. I buy super fine Himalayan salt and put it in the soap batter once it has come to a light to medium trace, and then I sprinkle a tiny bit of chunky salt in the top

I did enjoy your story about getting sea water. I live in the mountains about 90 minutes from the coast and asked my daughter to get a gallon of sea water…I got a tiny bottle less than half a litre 😂. I will try your recipe at the weekend.
