    We love Fort Wilderness. With or without a visit to the parks it’s worth it for us.

    Wow $245, Season does make a difference. We stayed there in August premium meadow for $177. Considering what all is there and the fact it includes parking at all the parks its worth it. Especially when you consider what you pay at any so called resorts that have none of the Disney Magic. My wife wants to spend a month there when she retires and do EVERYTHING DISNEY at her own pace.

    Back in 1981 our family stayed in one of Fort Wilderness's Terry Trailers that were 38 feet long, fully equipped, slept 6 and had daily housekeeping service. The daily rate on this - $42 and this was the 800 Loop or Jack Rabbit Run. I can't believe what they charge to stay at Fort Wilderness now even for a space to hook up your own RV.

    Always enjoy our stay at Ft Wilderness, we are booked for a post Thanksgiving stay. Added additional days using Pats tips. We agree, Preferred sites are more of a challenge backing into, given the narrow roads (26 Ft Cougar TT), we love the closeness to the marina and watching fireworks from the beach area. Thanks again for the great content, we agree Dan and Leslie provide super reviews on best places to eat in the parks.

    We were there Nov 30-Dec 8 in a Full Hook Up site in the 2100 loop. In 2022 we were in the 1600 loop. I believe unless you need extra concrete area go with just the full hook up and rent a golf cart and enjoy the park. Love going around at night looking at all the decorations. Our grandkids love them. After we retire we’ll go in January when it’s a lot cheaper. Last year we did a week at Bill Fredricks Park for $25 a night for Universal Studio and then moved to Fort Wilderness for the 2nd week.

    I have stayed in the preferred sites and enjoyed it. We did rent a golf cart, but booked it very early to ensure we could get a cart. Great info on assembling reservations to create a longer stay.

    To those complaining about pricing, this is all about convenience and location. Also, the one price that is mentioned in this video is not the lowest price. We stayed in September of 2023 for 1 week for only $89 a night. If that's still to high for you for what you get then there are other places you can try like private campgrounds with bumper to bumper rv sites and resort fees. Like everything else, a little research goes a long way. Of course, if you want to camp in Orlando during Christmas or any other holiday, pricing will be high no matter where you go.

    Be careful we were there last week. The sewer backs up bad. At least in the 500 loop. I had to wait till I got to my next design to dump my black tank. The grey was the first I dumped. I’m glad I caught it.

    I have seen many videos posted about the campground over the campsites there good and bad and have concluded that a lot of people didn't do their homework when choosing a campsite size before booking their spot. I have seen a lot of videos where the site size they have chosen is too small for their camper or RV. We have stayed there many times in our camper and based our decisions of the campsite size based on the length of our camper and location for our needs. Doing your homework on the campground before booking is very important for your stay there to make it enjoyable. We love staying there and its the only place we have ever stayed every visit since 2008 in both the cabins and our camper.

    Great review. It would appear that the campground at Disney is about like the hotels at Disney...ie the price is 3 or 4 times what it is really worth. It is a decent campground, but $250 for a site....lol... As always, safe travels...

    Nothing against Disney, but for that kind of money I’m going to Key West. Great video and info as always.

    We stayed at Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park, just north of Destin, FL. Water and electric hookups for 25 dollars a night. Washers and dryers at the bath house. Short drive to Destin. Beautiful sites, hiking trails, small beach etc.

    I too will never pay that much for any campsite, just out of principal. Can't even make a campfire. 😢 Nothing but a greedy rip off aimed only for the wealthy. Don't worry, I don't like it and I refuse to be a part of such greedy insane pricing!

    • @yankeesusa1
      @yankeesusa1 7 місяців тому +1

      Yea, if $100 a night seems greedy then it's not for you. We got it this past September for $90 a night with a promotion they ran. It was great. But the great thing about camping is there's plenty of choices.

    I would NEVER pay that for any RV spot....Disney is out of control, besides going full on "woke"

    • @vickyhargrove3002
      @vickyhargrove3002 7 місяців тому +3

      I will go because they are what you describe as “woke”, but to me, it means everyone is welcome at the “happiest place on Earth”. So if you don’t believe in that, you won’t be missed.

    • @yankeesusa1
      @yankeesusa1 7 місяців тому +4

      What does it have to do with woke??? Anyway, we go in September and only pay $90 a night. But hey, to each their own.

      @@vickyhargrove3002 good because that frees up all the decent campgrounds in my state!
