The sound is not taken from a mixer right? Amazing how balanced they sound live. (That without mentioning Scoffields's and Stewart's finesse.) Top notch concert.
@@seanoconnell2647 yeah could not agree more. I like his music in the 80/90, with Miles etc but everything comes to end eventually. Glad that he still plays but it does do anything for me.
@JuanSnihur i love the guy. He has had some the most amazing improvisation moments in history. I missed his tour unfortunately. I guess I feel like when he plays with a traditional trio (and oh man I love me some bill Stewart!) and more traditional jazz tunes, it limits his vocabulary some. But the Sco, Stewart, Swallow trio had some brilliant moments. I'm not a big fan of acoustic bass either. Jazz has evolved past it imo. Electric bass is the shit imo
John Scofield se renouvelle. Chapeau !
❤
His improvisations on standards like Confirmation (1st tune) swing hard and show his mastery.
great-job, masters... !!!
Sco is the man!
First song confirmation
Ah, ok, thanks! :)

The tune listed as Confirmation is Stella By Starlight
Ah, ok, thanks! :)

The sound is from a Zoom H2n in the audience :)
What’s up with the king speech for the band introduction..??
I’ve never seen that before
I don’t know how I feel about it
?
Where is Swallow?:(
His partner for ages , Carla Bley, died recently. That could be a reason he took a break

The bass is so low volume on this video it virtually can't be heard and offers no support, what a shame!
Listening on headphones and it sounds just fine.
It doesn't help that it's recorded on a handheld zoom recorder. The poster of this will get an email soon to remove it, unless consent was granted.
😂
Boring...his days are over
Yeah I feel on that. I really enjoy his funk fusion format more as his improvisations there seem more interesting. Love his earlier bands

His phrasing is awesome and it swings hard af, I can understand you don't enjoy it but to my ears he is even more musical

Sco has had his days of Pepsi, Coffee and Wine. He's on double malt whisky now
