Loved the beat, JFilt. Quick question: on the right side, which featured the sample, did you filter out the bass line? Or did you combine the bass line from the sample (Left side) and laid it on top of the sample with its bass line (Right side)? Bascially, did the sample on the right have a high pass filter applied to it? Thank you.
Agreed it really just depends. Drums first helps solidify a grove but so can your samples/vsts. All comes down to my inspiration and the ideas in my head when I sit down to create
i usually go for the drums first because i get a groove early on
That sample 🔥i listen to these in the background, And DAMN this episode was DOPE.
Either way for me. Depends on how I'm feeling about the sample or melody I have in my head.
Killah Priest 🔥🫡

I start with drums first but i dont know what, Is better cause the drums must be perfect, about the basss or 808
For me, usually chords first, but sometimes drums.
I almost always start with the melody unless it's a genre that has weird snare placements. I at least need placeholders if that happens
Yep yep! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ve been starting with whatever inspires in the moment to be honest.
Inspecta would definitely be on this
2:25
im ashamed to say this but my best beats were accidental
Drums first. It's alot easier to set the groove with the drum loop and then chop the samples and play them over it
REAL DOPE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Depends sometimes my drums touches my soul feel or the sample first !
Any way to listen to the full beat?
Ghost and Rae would be on this.
Shadoboxing Pt. 4
Mainly Melodies first
Melody first
I go usually with melody or sample flip first then bass then drums then layering additional samples and effects and meanwhile I do mastering
Thanks for sharing!
Drums always
