    Bruce Lee is the reason I started doing martial arts again. His books, notes,film documentaries, and his way of thought, inspired me too be a effective martial artist.

    Bruce Lee would be MMA world champion not because of the skills he possessed but because of his determination and ability to adapt. He would just learn and train to be the best.

    Bruce lee was lightning fast. I read that on camera he had to slow down his kicks by 30% or otherwise people wouldn‘t have been able to even see what he‘s doing.

    Very well done, Adam! I am grateful for your research, respect, and honesty on Bruce Lee. I agree that he would've owned mistakes and worked on improving - after all, it was along with his training philosophy. Seek out weaknesses, train to strengthen them. I also like the edits and how balanced they appear in the video. Have a great day!

    His hard work, mindset, dedication was beyond anyone of his time. People love to speculate if he would have done well in MMA. It's ridiculous to think that he wouldn't have evolved with the times. Regardless his contribution is appreciated and obviously will never be forgotten.

      He was a street fighter and martial artist before actor. He didn't agree with one martial art because of course styles make fights. He was constantly evolving to be a perfectionist.

      Bruce even stated in one of his only filmed interviews with Pierre Berton, that he had no intention of entering acting or that all his combatives training would lead to acting. He was a martial artist first, actor 2nd.

    Once again I am suggesting the inclusion of musicians in this series, someone like Louis Armstrong, Luciano Pavarotti, Leonard Bernstein, etc. Musical skills are just as demanding physically and mentally as other disciplines, and there are many parallels between the training and dedication required of athletes and musicians

    • @NicoleKrawczyk
      @NicoleKrawczyk 2 роки тому +2

      Prince would be suitable. A musical athlete. A guy who practiced for hours daily and was a demanding taskmaster. An athlete himself (basketball and ping pong) - just check out his dance moves. Unwavering selfconfidence.

    • @retro-ronin
      @retro-ronin Рік тому

    I say this in a place of respect for the man, as martial arts today wouldnt be the same without him.
    As far as Bruce Lee and UFC goes, if he went into UFC now as he was he would get destroyed by anyone semi decent.
    BUUT he would have done very well in UFC 1 and if he decided to pursue that he would have done very well, because he knew the value of training to achieve your goals and was already effectively a mixed martial artist, just not as polished as we are now.
    @thebioneer i would love to see you do a video on Jack Dempsey he made boxing what it is today, and heavily inspired Mike Tyson. He was also what we would recognise today as a mixed martial artist, being a boxer, catch wrestler, wrestler (and i think Judo?)
    if you havent read his book, check it out!
    Championship Fighting: Explosive Punching and Aggressive Defense
    still one of the best books available on the art of fighting.
