I feel like there's an inherent sadness to this song. A harsh reality, about how futile things can be. The fact that you're experiencing this too, how it seems to be woven in the song is simply impressive.

On a cloudy Friday afternoon four years ago, I got late to class. I knocked on the door, the professor opened it and told me "you don't get late to class" and kicked me out. I went home upset and lay down on my bed. My mind progressively filled with morose and muddled thoughts when a friend rang me up. She was crying and could barely speak. She called to inform me that our best friend had just died in a car crash. After she hung up, she came over at mine and together we cried until night fell. She then went back home and I was left alone. As everything was keeping me in this dark thoughts spiral, I put on some music. n u a g e s - Gone. The title sadly suited the situation, but it didn't act as a knife in the wound. I was still overwhelmed with sadness, but I was soothed by the music. It was like a consoling presence that helped me channel the emotion or rather, give it a sort of sane shape. Slowly, I began to accept what had happened. Life event.
I will always remember this day and how n u a g e s helped me go through it.

It makes me wish I knew what dragons think about when they lie on their backs at night and look at the stars. It makes me wonder if babies have the wisdom and soul of an eternal being inside of them but they are trapped in their baby bodies without developed speech. And they can't warn us that the end is near. It makes me think maybe one day every sub atomic particle in the universe may just say "fuck it"! And all of existence will explode. And people at work in front of their computers, and people making love and getting married, and men and women crying alone, and children on the playground, and grandpas and grandmas in rocking chairs, killers killing, and doctors saving will all go up in flames alike.

I heard this song just before becoming a herion addict I remember being so overwhelmed with emotion and the Russian mermaid story hit me differently... I quickly forgot about it and it faded like everything else... listening to it now im clean again just feels empty, I hope the emotion will come back one day.
