At 21:26 you briefly mentioned the custom air filter. I would like to see more of that if you can share. This build is so impressive. Thank you for sharing.
Do you have a part number for the air filter housing? I looked at the other videos and even tried zooming on the Mopar filter to look for part numbers lol.
Hi, can you talk in detail how to adapt a manual gearbox on the engine please ? I know an adapter kit exist for BMW to OM606, but on the other side of the gearbox, how you do ? If you can do a video about transmission, transfer case, etc, it would be amazing, thanks
Yes, thank you for this comment. At this moment Im more than half way through making video about adapting BMW gs6-37dz gearbox, so I should upload it soon.
All the linkage comes from my factory G engine OM603.931. Top portion of it (over the intake manifold) is modified to bolt it down. Next the vertical rod (that goes through intake manifold) is factory. Then there is plate (bolts to engine block) with rotation point and this is factory as well, but I had to modify it by moving away from bigger om606 cylinder head. Then the last rod (horizontal) to injection pump is custom make.
I can only speak for pump from my om603 that I sent for rebuild and turbo kit that I ordered and for these 2 parts Im satisfied with dpuk. I rebuilt all engine here locally in Poland (rebuilt pump and turbo from dpuk and some parts from my factory om603 engine were merged into om606). After all Im very satisfied with the engine! There is whole another story about gearbox. Gearbox itself is very allright, but adapter plate, clutch, signle fly are not the most accurate solution for overlanding/off roading vehicle, thats subject for some sort or update video after this rebuild and some kilometers covered.
What is the fuel efficiency, I am interested in a similar swap, but have no first hand data about the mileage? Is there a blog post about the costs? Very nice video?
Checked by my VIN again and no mistake, the tube guide is A 602 018 00 16 and its available in German warehouse for time of writting this comment. It is also insane expensie (~180 eur) for being just pretty simple tube. If you contact me through youtube contact form so I have your email I can send you printscreens from mercedes web-parts so you can see.
I made it entirely from 3 inch 304 stainless steel pipes. There are two 3 inch magnaflow oval straight through mufflers in series (first 18 inch (450mm) second 14 inch (350mm)). It got pretty quiet. Engine noise is at first plan.
I dont have insta, its not my cup of tee ;) but maybe I should make video of this build from hundrets of photos that I have. Good luck with your build.
I have deep oil sump (from my previous OM603.931). After I drain oil now I refill it full with ~7,5 liters of oil, but I have no memory of how much was to fill it full after engine rebuild when it was dry.
i have the same sump on mine ,but after adding 9L its showing 3/4 full ,im thinking this might be the cause of the oil in the turbo .@@MercedesOffRoadClub
Amazing job, You killed it! Outstanding attention to all the thousands of screws, nuts, and bolts. Well done.
Well done Sir..good job..Good car..enjoy driving your G !
Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it!
Great many thanks for your help , I knew it had to be either tube or stick and the amount of oil
No problem 👍
Waooo !!! Thank you, this is a very nice video ! What an impressive job.
Outstanding work
Awesome! can't wait to see it running!
Please make video on how you removed the dash.

Thx. Sure. Im already editing new video about engine bay mods where I discuss this air filter in details. I should upload it soon.

Beautifully well made! Just wondering what happened to the episode 1 and 2😂

I bought it used from W210 and then I gave it full rebuild on my own in my workshop.

Hi can you provide more details about the cooling radiator and the plastic shroud. MB part numbers and who made your alloy radiator?
Yes, I have just added links to description of this video, check it out, it's there.
Thank you.i have ordered the radiator for Poland now. Fantastic 👍😁
Great ;)
Where will i find the contract form
love the throttle linkage are the lower parts stock parts ?

What is your experience with DPUK products? are they satisfactory?

The number on top of the stick in red

Thx. I did not drive it, so I do not have fuel efficiency data yet. Swap costs are at the end of this video.
could double check the tube number please, if that's right I've found what's wrong, fingers crossed

Thank you for the comment. I come from Warsaw/Poland my friend.
What’s the electrical bulkhead on the right inner fender in front of the abs block?
Its winch solenoid (relay) from Albright (not connected yet at time of this video)
@@MercedesOffRoadClub thank you. I really like your winch mount. Your whole rig is awesome. I had to start with a petrol engine G. USA.
👍
Do you the part number of the fan cover ?
Yes, they are listed in the description of this video
@@MercedesOffRoadClub thanks ,the cover is proving hard to find
Hi is this the om603 glow plug relay?
Yes, I connected OM606 glow plugs to factory W463 OM603 relay
@@MercedesOffRoadClub can you please help with rpm sensor? Thx 🙂

@@MercedesOffRoadClub I’m swapping om606 to y60 patrol. And i dobr no how to connect rpm

how much oil does your sump hold?

This is 1,5L diffrence. I also put deep stick tube from my om603 and deep stick as well, but I did not measure lengths of factory om606.
is the stick 60326
@@MercedesOffRoadClub
60326 ?? You mean part numbers for OM603.931:
Guide tube A 602 018 00 16
Stick A 603 010 26 72
Om606 with a 4L80 easier and better
Maybe, but it has pretty much crazy gear ratios like:
1: 2.48
2: 1.48
3: 1.00
4: 0.75
GS6-37DZ 1st gear: 5.14
220 CDI 716.xxx 6 spd 1st gear: 5.01
722.6 5 spd 1st gear: 3.93
8HP70 1st gear: 4.69
