ronald guida, that is very true. Crutches to begin with are certainly not easy. If you are just home from a Total Knee Replacement, you may want to initially use a walker instead. To also assist in your recovery, you may want to try this Vive PROFlex Strap 2-in-1 leg lifter/ exercise strap www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZG3CCH5/?tag=AECorner-20 I designed this with my total knee replacement clients in mind and use it to help them get themselves in/out of bed easier as well as work on getting their knee motion back. ✌🏻❤️AECorner

Now is the time for recovery and keeping yourself safe. If you don’t feel safe or comfortable on crutches contact your surgeon or physical therapist for further advice. Please take care and stay safe. ✌️❤️AECorner

I am on crutches and have to keep my foot up. This means sleeping on my back and I am a side sleeper... Any suggestions please? I have problems having a good night's sleep. :(

+Chantal Couturier Thanks for the question. Yes, it is difficult to sleep on your back if you are a side sleeper. We have taken a picture to demonstrate a supported sleeping position while lying on your back, that might improve your comfort temporarily. Both legs are elevated with the hips bent in order to improve low back comfort. Make sure when you are propping the legs to reduce swelling, the ankles are slightly higher than the knees. Sleep is very important to the healing process. Unless you have been specifically restricted from sleeping on your side by your doctor due to your injury, you may need to resort to side sleeping for limited periods of time in order to get adequate sleep. If this is necessary, place a pillow between your legs for positioning and support. Return to elevating the foot as soon as possible. We could not attach the picture here. We posted it on our Facebook page at Adaptive Equipment Corner. We hope this is helpful! Have a great day and speedy recovery! AECorner

You could always use a crutch caddy, which stands yuor crutches in an upright position and allows you to use both hands / arms to lift yourself in and out of a sitting position. It's worth a look if you're confined for a long time to crutches,

I JUST sprained my ankle yesterday evening while I was out longboarding. Now I get to learn how to not walk with a limp. :D
