Love the mustache. I upgraded my NI bundle this year and have been happy with it. For me, I let it sit several years between upgrades. Was at least 3 years this time… but yeah… great stuff. Honestly I got a lot more from this upgrade compared to daw upgrades…
Yeah, so many DAW upgrades right now! Best if you can wait a few years between Komplete, maximize the value!

That's what i love from Native Instruments, always keeping things active for customers as a business though. Wanting the mk3 keyboard but waiting on what updates they are going to add as you adviced.
Meanwhile learning and happy with my A49 & Maschine mk3.

This was a nice surprise. Usually cyber season is 50% off individual instruments, but looks like summer of sound came early! I’m already on K14 CE, so I’m just hanging around waiting for Orchestral Tools Metropolis Ark to go on sale (we both know that’s unlikely 😂). You’re right about the strings/orchestra - they are good, but a little dated I feel. I’ve actually been looking at those Teletone Audio Kontakt instruments lately - bought electro which is excellent and now they have a little 30% off sale going, so I expect that’s where my $ will be going in the next couple of weeks. Hope you’re well!
Problem is they surprised me a month after I purchased it. It's all good. I don't regret it....except I would have loved to have that 100 dollars back lol

Nice video again. I thought that NI only discounted their individual libraries instead of the full Komplete which, as far as I know, would only go on sale during the Summer of Sound. I already upgrade to the latest Komplete this summer. Really nice stuff.

Have said it before, to me you are one of the best educators on the internet. I am now a Maschine MK3 user (thanks to you). The MK3 is a formidable machine, as a guitarist I've never been comfortable with keyboards, but with the MK3 I get the tone in my "fingers". If it's okay, I'd like to add some comments. I'm going to upgrade the Komplete Collector Edition, and I think Piano Colors looks interesting, also the Kontakt 7 full version, Lores, all the expansions for Maschine and 9 expansions for Massive X. I think Massive X is a bit tricky to master, but when it comes to sounds it's top notch. Therefore, expansion packs are welcome. Cheers.

Hi Jef.I recently bought Komplete 14 on sale.I saw your video on how to turn the maschine expansions into kits to use in other programs.when u convert it using kitmaker does it completely change all the files into mpc format, or does it take multiple conversions to achieve. Can you do an in depth video on it?
I know that you use maschine but, I recently bought a used mpc live 2 that came with lots of sound kits, splice samples,and mpc expansions pre purchased by the former owner. I have a problem. I have an external drive installed in the bottom of my mpc live 2. How do i access the kits, splice samples, and mpc expansions on it without ejecting the external hard drive out of it?

I've been using Cinesamples for a long time, very nice stuff, also love Audio Imperia! Got vids on both... old time user of VSL as well... can't go wrong with them! (didn't like Appassionata Strings, but did use their Chamber stuff a ton!)
Am on K13 Standard, it says that the upgrade to 14 price is the same from 2-13, so unless it changes, there's got to be something that really warrants spending on the upgrade, as it can always wait for the next Komplete release and sale.

I have V collection and im partly moving OOTB for synthesis, I have 2 UJAM bassists for reinforcement, and model D piano as well as PianoV, so the sampled instruments in Komplete just arent calling to me.
And the modelled instruments i have other stuff at least as good that will fill the role. The effects, fx collection and select cover whats there.
And the Arturia NKS is quite usable.
I had that feeling but your run through help me not waste 250 bucks on stuff that wont do that much for my workflow (unlike maschine, which is one of my fave sequencers)

Off topic. I saw your 4 year old Mac Mini running on a large 4K TV. It's now 2023 and I have a 2017 65" LG 4K UHD 60hz TV and I love it BUT am sick of Macbook Pro battery life. So damn expensive! With the discount, Komplete 14 Standard is *approaching* what I might be able to afford, but damn. So frustrating. I'm not a producer, don't sell my music... hell, I don't even really share it all that much. I just like making music as a hobby, it's one of my creative outlets and also a stress-reliever/escape. I also don't make that much money, so a lot of this software is pretty much out of reach. All I can do is watch videos and tutorials on youtube of people playing with them, and just sit here drooling lol
Can anyone recommend other products that maybe are similar to Komplete and other NI products that might also be classed and priced more affordably? Product lines for the casual home studio, beginners, etc.?
I hear you! Have you looked at Arturia's stuff? It's super synth heavy... but it's also on sale... depends on what kind if instruments you like to play with the most!
I could afford Komplete Ultimate at the current price (coming from Select), but on the other hand I think to myself: it's still just a hobby at the moment. I don't earn a penny with it.
What appeals to me about Ultimate are the cinematic plugins. Unfortunately, these are missing in Standard.

What a French guy! 👨🏽🎨👨 I already had Komplete 13 Ultimate Collectors Edition, but native offers me an upgrade to 14 for 250$ I guess it's a good deal, but the products they include in the upgrade package are not inspiring. If there were session bassist / percussionist and more new maschine expansions in it, I would consider upgrading.

I'm loving UJAM Mellow double bass as a session bassist for reinforcement rn - its free from pluginboutique with anything else atm, only VST2 but really expressive sound, sounds great amazing triggered under a guitar, or re-amped.
I’m not purchasing anything from NI until their next Komplete release and summer sale. I have more than enough to hold me over till then.
I went to NI and once again (and for over three months) the Kontrol K88 Keyboard is out of stock. Have they decided not to manufacture this keyboard anymore?
