HTC Vive Flow Review: Lens Design and Form Factor from the Future!

- In this video, we take a look at the HTC Vive Flow, a new all-in-one / stand-alone VR Head-Mounted Display. I have been eager to take a look at this HMD for a long time because of its interesting look and form factor. It is also interesting that HTC caters to another market than gaming with this headset (that is, meditation, mindfulness, wellness, etc.)- and that it is intended for consumers and not business customers. I discuss the form factor, quality of display, their innovative lens design, and take a look at some of its supported applications, and take quite some time in giving my opinion on this product. For those who would like an in-depth review of my impressions of this HMD!

Just subscribed. You're channel is highly underrated. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
Two questions. 1.With the official vive flow controller, can it be used to control your phone, if you mirror cast? 2.Hand gestures is in beta, does it work well? Can it also be used with a phone when casting?
This device is half the price now.
I like where this is all heading.
found this through reddit, great content!
Cool design, and the portability is neat-but as an iOS user it’s very hard to justify the purchase especially when it costs more than a quest 2
I preordered, bought it to watch 3D VR video (I wouldn't own an instabookfacegram product at gunpoint if it were free). Ended up having to build my own streaming server for it. That said and done, it serves the purpose moderately well. Unless in very bright environment, the viewport drifts _dramatically_. The B&W low-res cams are horrible for tracking. I really need to write a player native instead of WebXR-based. I'm salty there's been a single update (just after release, Dec 8 I believe), that's it. No new apps but I have to pay monthly. As usual with Vive, release-and-forget. (I also have a Cosmos Elite w/wireless, but should be receiving my Varjo Aero maybe this week after a 4mo wait). They promised handtracking and other features - but I'll commit to eating the headset if that ever happens. Optics are excellent. So much potential hindered by a crummy company; my last Vive product. ... but it sorta-kinda-works for my niche purpose. It's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist for the vast majority.
Interesting!
If there was a colour pass through, higher refresh rate, and iOS support/hand tracking I’d be happy with it but it would affect the weight.
The design is interesting.
Have you actualy developed/tested apps for the Flow? I have a Flow but is collecting dust!
Never got around... Should be similar to the XR Elite etc tho but without as much possibiliy for interaction
How to Connect the HTC Vive Flow to SteamVR [Step-by-Step]

Can it be connected to steamvr?
What's it like for UA-cam videos on the train or something
i guess..
God Bless 'em, but it's nearly pointless. Nice vid though! Subbed!
Yep hehe. Welcome!
Seems like yet another mediocre HTC VR offering to me...
In many ways, yes.
