Glad you enjoyed it. I hope to one day see a MLS game. The league itself is very interesting to me and whilst the premier league and other European leagues are far superior in quality of football, there is something about the MLS which none of the other leagues seem to have. Plus some of the stadiums the teams have in the MLS are nothing less than fantastic. Atlanta being one of them. Their stadium is incredible. How full was it roughly that day?
Stealth 100 Soccer wins the game! (That's the goalkeeper equivalent of Dan Orlovsky stepping out of the back of the end zone. He'll never live that down.)
I saw so many people dip out at the 90. They really missed out. Always there till the end, and this is why. We've changed the game so many times in stoppage. This one though, fucking insane. My voice is still raspy and my ears still hurt, I've never heard that stadium get so loud.
I was in favor of the mic. Now I believe that they can just use sign signals. In the Euros, they continue to use the hand signals as they have. But to make sure that people in the stadium know what’s going on, they have the stadium announcer say what’s happening so the spectators have a better understanding.
I bet that was amazing. Cannot beat a last minute winner. Sounds like you had a great time there. I was fortunate enough to witness one myself back in October 2023 when Aston Villa played HSK Zrinjiski Mostar in Europa conference league group stage. Was 0-0 all throughout the game but Aston Villa were knocking on the door throughout the entire game and HSK seemed to just keep doing barely enough to stay in it. Then in the 94th minute a cross into the box and John McGinn leaping into the air like a salmon to head the ball in. Was right behind the goal as it happened and is my best memory in football. The atmosphere was amazing as 42,500 people all start cheering at once. That is why I love last minute winners and that’s why I always stay until the end.
Way back in Soccer Bowl ‘77 is what this reminded me of. Seattle Sounders keeper Tony Chursky rolled the ball and Cosmos Steve Hunt snuck in from the right and behind and scored. I was there and have never forgotten it. It was cruel.
First he stole the keeper's gatorade Then he stole the ball off the keeper If you don't like that, you don't like MLS

This was my first home game , we shook the stadium. So many people started leaving before the game ended, just for Thiaré to win it for us. What a crazy crazy crazy experience 😭🖤❤️🖤❤️
There is something about the MLS which I find fascinating. I’m not sure what it is but I just love the league so much. Whilst the quality of football isn’t close to the level as top European leagues are at, I just find the MLS so interesting and the football played there is so interesting. I love how all the teams moreoless play attacking football and aren’t afraid to concede 2 to score 4 as a result. So many leagues nowadays play incredibly defensive which is effective don’t get me wrong, but sooo boring to watch. I hope I may one day see some MLS games in person. The stadiums for a lot of the teams are fantastic, Atlanta’s particularly looks amazing and is on par with the elite European team’s grounds.
Oh u should definitely go. I went to a United game 2 weeks ago wen they played Houston. The atmosphere wuz amazing. The stadium is top notch. And the game seems like its played much faster in person. Also i enjoyed your description and breakdown of the MLS. Its really spot on. No it doesnt have the same quality of European leauges. But it is very competitive and def entertaining. And its gettin better every year.
Salary caps contribute to the style of play in MLS. Teams typically spend the majority of their money on forwards and mids, not so much on defenders. Doesn't mean the defenders are bad, but the mismatch between attack and defense is there.
Yeah it's such a fun league. Lots of goals, comebacks, and bangers. And lots of teams have a chance. Playoffs make it more exciting and less predictable.
@@shawn1819 I plan to go one day. I have always been attracted to Atlanta United since I played FIFA 19 as I saw what their ground was like. When I watch the highlights which MLS post on their UA-cam channel it sounds so amazing and so loud. Part of the reason o like going to big matches in England is for the atmosphere. Which MLS teams for the most part have plenty of. I am a bit of a San Jose Earthquakes fan as I was a big fan of Chris Wondolowski, however I do like Atlanta a lot too. Thank you for the kind words. I’m glad that you enjoyed it. Absolutely the quality is getting better and it’s good that the league is focusing on developing its own players rather than buying in old has beens on a huge salary who sometimes are bothered in some cases but often aren’t. Throwing money at these things never works as shown by the Chinese Super league, Indian Super League and more recently the Saudi Premier league. It’s much more sustainable for the league to develop your own players and much more profitable and in 15 - 20 years time I can see the MLS being a really good quality league. I hope the MLS never changes its formula of play. I think that buy attacking constantly, interesting football is played, and so the views come in from people across the globe and so more revenue through streaming and advertising. There is most definitely a difference between good quality and interesting football. It shows that but having loads of teams that are similar in quality therefore creates tight tables which are forever changing and make for great viewing. I will watch the league’s development with great interest.
Crazy that they allowed that goal... Law 12: Fouls and Misconduct, 3. Disciplinary Action - Cautionable offences, 3rd bullet: entering, re-entering or deliberately leaving the field of play without the referee's permission.
This is not a valid goal. The player has left the plying field to drink, he can't just reenter without permission. The goalkeeper believed (correctly) that the player behind him wasn't in play.
Yeah the defender who turned his head and said nothing at the end there should be fired immediately. No excuses, you have to say something. The goalkeeper can get fired as well.
El jugador de Atlanta sale del campo a toma agua y vuelve a entrar sin autorización, eso es amarilla para el jugador que avandona el campo de juego sin autorización y luego toma ventaja de su posición, el gol se tuvo que haber anulado
He rotated a bit to shield after feeling the defender on his shoulder and then stumbled and went over. It was a bit more clear in person. Which is also why he popped right back up instead of laying there.. no one, including Etienne made any fuss about it.

@@dimitris_zaha I've seen plenty of keepers, and a fair few field players, step off long enough to pick up a bottle when play was at the other end.
