- Clearly, I love cameras. This one is one of the more odd cameras I've been able to shoot with. It's not too old, but it shoots like it's from the 1950's! And I LOVE it!!!

It’s like The Room of cameras, it’s so bad it’s good.
Big Tasty I love this description 😂
the holga 120 is what made me fall in love with film photography. I have like six different colors of the 120 lol, good review
I have used Holga and Woca both plastic Cameras. The photo quality depends on how well you cover the light leaks with gaffers tape
There is a shutter release cable adapter for the Holga, that's why it has a bulb mode. No more blur on long exposures when you use it!
Awesome! I'll go scouring the internet for that! Thanks!
I wanted to explore the Long Exposures shots of Holga 120 GCFN but I couldn’t find the Shutter Release Cable Adapter in my country 🇵🇭
Thank you so much for the review, it helped a lot in making a better decision on whether to purchase this camera or not .
Great review! I recently ordered myself a second hand one and am very excited to play with it. I have only shot digital cameras so this review helped understand some terms I hadn’t before.
Hey thank you for this. It helped me a lot. Answered all my questions 😂 this is my new hobby and I don’t know where to start. I recently bought one so, hopefully i could create something nice 😄
I bought one of these about 6 months ago. If you're not a fan of light leaks, instead of taping the back try stuffing some black cotton yarn into the groove on the back. It seems to be working for me. I saw a tip for using filters with the Holga. You can press-fit a 46mm filter adapter into the lens and use any filters that you may have or want to use. I have a bunch of 52mm filters for B&W and the adapter lets me use any of them.
thanks for the advice. I was worried about Light Leaks, but ordered this online last night.
i just found my old camera in some drawer. came directly here lol. thx nice video! tc ;]
the flash that you can buy for it is synched to the shutter speed. but only the holga flash.
I've used Profoto packs with a pocket wizard with a Holga just fine
I really enjoyed this video! I'll probably buy this camera!
I highly recommend it! It’s great for practicing composition!
Holga 120n is my favorite
For long exposure, you can cover the lens with your hand or a hat or something and then hit the switch. That might help get a sharper result.
The Holga hot shoe is X synced and works with electronic flash. I think of the Holga as the modem box camera.
Thanks for letting me know!
Funny that most people don't know that flash bulbs had different sync delay requirements My old Nikon F had setting for these before the electronic flashes were common. I think that the fastest shutter speed for X sync was 1/60 sec.
@@eminusipi Agreed, all most people today know X sync because everything is electronic strobe, no flash bulbs are used. I remember 'M' sync being used in some situations. I don't miss having to buy buying flashbulbs and having to look up flash guide-numbers which would vary as to the film, the flashbulb, and the reflector.
awesome review, thank you for all that info! loved to hear you talk about it :)
refreshing in the age of digital...
Guitarists get it: it's not GOOD, but it's interesting.
120 really had no aspect ratio standard. Many cameras were made in other than 6x6 such as the Pentax 67 (6x7) the Fuji 617 (6x17) the Mamiya 645 (6x4.5).
Great review, thank you so much!
I just boughta holga 120 120Gcfn. waiting for it to ship.
cant wait to get it
Pentax k1000 was my first camera. I still have it...somewhere...lol
Great review man! You really know your shit.
I’m glad you think so! I also to a TON of reading in the bit of free time I have! Lol
I have a big doubt about compensating when looking thru the viewfinder because recently I realized, but this was in an instax mini, that you have to compensate the opposite sides that you would think
When you buy A Holga that inside the box their is a 645 Mask that you an 16 or 15 shots, and Who SAID? 120 Format is going away, As I did not buy that 1933 Plaubel Makina 6x9 camera for nothing after fixing the Rangefinder window.... Also I have 5 Holga's models in which 3 of them has a Glass lens, and the other two is the bent corners 35mm Holga, and the Pinhole Panoramic Holga., and I also got the cable release adapter to shoot it with a cable release.... Hey the Holga camera is like the Kodak Brownie...
I love this camera I love photography but am a beginner it’s a cheap camera but really good for beginners
Absolutely! Because it forces you to focus on the basics before going on to the advanced stuff.
Garrett Crespo sorry if this sounds stupid but when I mean I’m new at this I mean I am a complete noob how do u get the film uploaded on to the computer 😂
You either need to scan it yourself or have the place you developed it at scan it for you.
The more you learn *que music*
Also, the "sunny/cloudy" switch does not adjust the shutter - that is fixed at 1/80th also the hot shoe works perfectly fine. This review has so many err5ors
Is this the same advertised in Aliexpress? Or the one in there is even lower quality?
With the flash you can set it to B do a long exposure and blast a flash, the flash will give you a sharp image naturally. Also the flash will help to pull focus. Easy.
Hey man I got a noob question, what happens if I hit the shutter button twice while on the same shot?
You get a double exposure. I show it in the video. Basically the film captures 2 overlapping images.
I show it at 7:53
This is the exact reason I want to buy it, for the creativity aspect and the “oops, I dropped it, but it doesn’t matter” peace of mind it brings (im guessing)
Hi! May I see the link to your video of the Pentax film camera?
ua-cam.com/video/32aEmYPo0nM/v-deo.html
How do you develop 120 film?
120 film develops the same as 35mm film. You’ll either have C-41 process film or E6 process film. C-41 gets you a negative image that you’ll need to color invert after development. E6 is a slide positive film. That means there’s no need to invert the colors. As for development, I take C-41 film to a local film lab, but I develop E6 film on my own.
Where is this link of which you speak?
Does it take only black and white photos?
Nope. It can shoot whatever kind of film you load into it. Color, black and white, chromatic, you name it!
thank you
dose need a battery and if so what kind?
No batteries. All mechanical
120 fold phasing out? What the ***k are you talking about? 😳
I was more referring to back when this came out and film was still in its heavy decline.
Gaffer tape is your friend with Holgas.
can you record on it?
Boring
