A lot of decks still had 78rmp option in the 70s. It was only in the late 50s that 78s were phased out co pletely. My parents still had some they'd bought only 14 or 15 years before. They still wanted to play them but as the quality declined we persuaded them to replace what they could on vinyl. None of theirs were pop, they were classical pieces made famous in popular British films, Legend of the Glass Mountain, Warsaw Concerto etc, As for the record they certainly cashed in on the Aĺisons near success in Eurovision with Are You Sure. With that level of material it's no wonder they didn't have any more chart success.

I quite like this , catchy and reminds me a lot of the everly bros which I guess was quite dated by 1961

Only 10 years after 78s finished so people still had them and played them I guess. Cool little player :)
