The anomalies that you mentioned look like you are CPU bound in the games that don’t perform any better than the RTX 3070 also, are you using DDU the display Driver uninstalled program between AMD and every time you swap graphics cards? Also the Rtx 3070 has eight gigs of VR and the 7900 XCX has 24 you said it had four times more than a 3070 by my math 8×3 = 24 so it would have three times the amount.
I did run Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode prior to taking out the 3070 then installed a fresh AMD Adrenaline Driver installation. But you're totally right that apparently I'm awful at math and multiplied incorrectly! Oops. 🤣
First thing we played together afterwards was Tiny Tina's Wonderland and he was shocked at the performance uplift. 3070 is still a great card for 1080p gaming!
