When I grow old I do not wish to be FORCED to spend the last months, or years, of MY life in misery. The proposition is absurd and Australians are right to reject it. I am the owner of my own body, and I will decide what to do with it, not some zealot "holy men", and certainly not the state.
"There are no gauntness about who buys these kits, we just don't know what they use them for and whom they use them upon." It's a good point, but if you replace "kit" with "gun" suddenly the shoe is on the other foot.
I wanna go on my terms, I also feel bad for people who are hurting.. I have seen my grandmother on her deathbed and my heart is still broken over 14 years of her death
The people in the Netherlands and Belgium who have been "euthanized" -- murdered is more like it -- WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT or against their family's wishes would not agree with this being a good choice or good law. Doctors & nurses admit they do it. Legal "safe guards" aren't. It is a slippery slope we do NOT want to go down. Care, compassion, companionship NOT KILLING is the way to go. More people fear dying alone than fear pain or dying.
I have the right not to accept suicide as a good "life choice" but I also don't feel it's my right to tell others that they must stick around longer than they feel is right for them. Killing anyone without their consent, no matter what amount of mercy a person thinks it might be, is just plain wrong though.
There is a story about a young girl suffering on her death bed but was one of the few on the MDMA (ecstasy) program where she was prescribed ecstasy. She had a very wonderful conversation with her parents and was relatively free from pain on her final hours... I don't think taking your life is a classy way to go... Maybe drugs like Cannabis and MDMA might help really ease the passing... :(
The creation of a society without moral values..DESPERATE MOVE/PROPAGANDÀ TOWARDS BUDGET SURPLUS?DONT SPEND MONEY ON USELESS PPL?what about restructuring education system?
its still wrong its fine when your enjoying the life but oh i can.t take the pain and suffering, why don't they say we have abuse our bodies and now its the pay back time.these are the Great Test form God, dats what i believe in.

People should be able to control their life even if they want to take their own life. Why does the state have control over peoples lives?
I am 39... Depression and anxiety haunt every thought and feeling that I have. I have had enough.

Brilliant, if I ever become reliant on others, I want OUT.

No one should have the license to kill.

make me sick
How about freedom of right? People are free to decide how they should go. However, the suicide tool kit can also be a homicide kit...
Dying a natural death and not copping out like a coward is dying with dignity.
My grandmother has advanced dementia and wants to die with dignity!
