04 Acura mdx evap code is still on and I've already put a new gas gap in. The silver flap inside the spout of the car is missing. Can that trigger the code too?
My colorado doesn't have the check engine light on but the EVAP code isn't ready and I can't pass NY inspection. Would that be my gas cap? If not what can it be?
I have a 2011 Mazda Tribute and it says I have a large leak I tried to buy a cap for it but I can’t because it is a speed filler so a cap can’t go on they said what do you do for the ones that you can’t get a cap for??

My car manuel say fuel tank capacity is at 14.5 but when i put gas it only get fuel around 11.815 i had change the gas cap before because i had check engine light my gas mileage is low at 230 miles range but the manual say 390 miles range what should i do see a mechanic
funny thing was this was lass thing check car inshurace paid out 3000 on this probem
so dealership flash software wich came back with gass cap then evac error so i order new oem gass cap
dealer ship wanted 100.00 i got new one 24,00 , now will this solve the probem after fuel pump seal was replace
after the evac control value replace well we will find out shotly as stated check motor light should go out once gas cap is replace we will find out

You have purge solenoid and vent solenoid. If one of them they doesn't work properly, the check engine light will turn on.
Does anyone know how long roughly the check engine light will shut off after fixing issue??
after you turn the gas cap and hear the click, the gas cap still has play if turned clockwise. Is that normal?
And when replacing the gas cap (with a factory replacement, no less) doesn't fix the problem????
All I need is the EVAP , but I try so many online videos still incomplete I drove over 300 miles . What else can I do ? Do I really need the EVAP to pass inspection in New Jersey ?

My evap monitor won't clear but passed CA smog. I think CA allow one monitor not cleared, make sure no check engine light. 2000 Camry, taken my chance got lucky!

Why would it matter whether or not the cap had a lock or not? The title is confusing.
I recently got the code P0446 on my 98 Toyota Camry but I was told I need to change my Vacuum Switching Valve. Do you know where thats located...Someone told me near the gas tank, then another person told me its behind the engine.
TampaOutlaw that thing has two hoses going to it and an electrical adapter going to it. Try checking in the back on the drivers side in that general area--it is small. Someone told me that it helped to boost MPG of their car. Everytime you replace a part you need to take the neg terminal off car battery. Placing parts (especially under the hood) requires the ecm to re-learn the whole system of the car.

I have a 98 camry. Passed smog check 4 months ago. 2 years ago I replaced the charcoal canister with another charcoal canister. Yesterday while driving I got a p0440 code. However the computer only reads the 0440. No other codes. What could possibly be the problem? My gas cap looks ok
2000 V6 Camry evap monitor won't go away. Removed gas cap and drove it for miles, no P0440. Isn't that strange? All monitors cleared except evap, pass California smog anyways. Just wanted to fix that stupid evap monitor, frustrating. Mechanics here charge $140 for diagnostics then another $140 per hour for the work, some just keep on replacing parts. Thinking about getting a smoke machine and do it myself.
@@kimchee94112 Are you saying if you clear a P0440 code, then get the smog check, it will pass CA smog even though the readiness monitors haven't run yet?

Why do Evaporate leaks happen with the cap?
Gas cap is one of three components keeps the vapor sealed. The other two are vent and purge solenoid. Over the years, the rubber gasket worn on the cap off and causing a leak.

Ot means it was not the gad cap
It means it was not the gas cap and that you habe to spend more money not just gas cap
Exactly the issue that I am having, my EVAP doesn't ready at all and no check engine light at all.
