Essex Walks: Could there be a Stone Circle at Alphamstone?

Just done this walk today, beautiful churches, thanks for your knowledge and the inspiration!

Very nice Joe. Thank you. I did a very similar walk (about 6.3 miles) starting from Bures and making my way to Alphamstone then Lamarsh then back to Bures. Both of the churches were worth a look. Hope you do some more Essex walks.

I remember Lamarsh from when I did the St Edmunds Way a couple of years ago. I thought then how beautiful the area was, and finding a round tower church was a bonus. Those of us that live near The Stour are very lucky to have such a wonderful area to walk in.

I loved the Hare Joe, I've never managed to catch one on film. Those churches were beautiful. You are probably right with the stone circle. It would make sense that Christianity would put a church on the site, too. Beautiful bird song. It was a Hare, wasn't it? Thanks for sharing, Joe.

Thank you. Yes it was a Brown Hare, we get a lot round Suffolk and Essex.
