Soak any plant seed overnight (or around 8 hours) for faster germination! Old gardening trick from ancient times that I myself just learned!

When I buy the coriander leaves, I put them in vase inside my fridge. Just like if they were flowers. It lasts a long time. (Have not timed it) but try it. It works. I always have fresh coriander leaves.

Tania Ghosh right!! Just enough water for the stem to be immersed. Cover the vase with a plastic bag in your fridge, can be used for long time.

I just conducted a scarification experiment on split seeds versus whole seeds, The split seeds still germinate but they germinate last and are very unhealthy. For best germination, rub the seeds lightly with sandpaper, but DO NOT split them.

Another source of coriander seed is the Indian supermarket. You'll get huge bags for very little money. Same goes for mustards, fennel, fenugreek and cumin.

If the split seeds germinate quicker, why put in whole seeds? Were you trying to observe if this was true? Or is there another logic behind it? Also, how do you harvest the leaves? Pull them from the roots or just pluck the leaves and leave the stem behind?

    • @saiprasad8001

Water once before covering with foil. Then water whenever the soil looks dry. You can keep it inside the house ( in a warm place) or outside ( if it's sunny and warm).
