CO2 boosts what your plant breaths. So it's like you running 100m on 3 x O you just run quicker. CO2 also effects water parameters.... With time/patience, and lighting and substrate. It grows, just not so fast. It gets energy through the light YOU provide, the substrate, the selection of flora/fauna/hard scape and d/w. YMV but concentrating on the simpler things I find usually to solve more complex things. Horsepower sells engines, torque wins races. Lures catch fishermen not fish. It depends really on the route you want to take. Get a carpet in few weeks for a new scape for a show sure. It's YOUR tank do what you want. Once you get the rest right invest in some pruning stuff you'll be taking out a bunch a week. 😂
There're liquid supplements you can use, like Seachem Excel for example. You could also look into DIY systems. If you don't want to add CO2 at all, there're a lot of plants that will do well without it. Most epiphytes are a good choice and even some red plants, like Ludwigia Super Red.
@@underwatergardens709 I never knew there were liquid supplements. I usually use a good soil and root tabs but I can't ever get the lushness I want without c02, thanks 😄
