I recently discovered a simpler way to mount belt clips to kydex knife sheaths. You'll be skeptical until you try in yourself. It may work on holsters too. Double face tape. Not strong enough you think. Try Gorilla glue double face tape. It works for me.
Hi Michael. Thank you for sharing. You can also use our KYDEX thermoform adhesives to achieve the same thing (M-weld and E-weld) ( www.holstersmith.com/vcom/tools-thermoform-adhesives-c-548_433.html ) To be on the safe side, we always recommend that folks using these materials (Kydex, Holstex, ABS or Boltaron) (for weapon holsters and knife sheaths) to consider adding an eyelet or two ( www.holstersmith.com/vcom/hardware-eyeletsrivets-c-553_416.html ), or a couple of slotted post assemblies ( www.holstersmith.com/vcom/hardware-mounting-assemblies-c-553_560.html )to make sure that a failsafe is in place as a backup. No matter what you use, be safe!!!! Thank you for the Gorilla tape tip!
When trimming down the holster after forming, is there a specific depth or measurement you want to cut near the trigger guard for retention? Also, is it a guesstimation of where to put the eyelet for closure by the trigger guard as well as helping with the retention?
Hi William. Thanks for watching. Those are called "Drop-Style Clips". Here's the page with those, and all of our other mounting attachments, as well. www.holstersmith.com/vcom/mountings-c-547.html
In this video, we used a Holstermold to create this holster. Here is a link to our entire line of holstermolds: www.holstersmith.com/vcom/molding-props-holstermolds-c-555_568.html
On your buffer, the wheel to left (gray), what kind of buffer wheel is that and do yall sell it? Ive been running into the kydex leaving a rough edge or not being able to get that smooth slick shiny look on the edges. Ive used all types and grits of sand paper, to include the white clothe buffer wheels to no avail. thanks for video.
Hi Kelly. Thanks for watching. You're looking for the 800 grit flap wheel. It'll give you the most polished edge. Here's the link. www.holstersmith.com/vcom/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=flap+wheel Let us know if you need more info.

Been looking for a holster and nobody makes what I need. Thank you for the video and I will have to check out your site.
Hi Brayden. Thanks for watching. That's what I said when I got started. Now I'm knee deep in Kydex...and never more happy! :-)

Míster a cuantos grados calientas el Horno antes de introducir el Kydex. Y cuántos minutos lo dejas dentro. Saludos cordiales desde Chile 🇨🇱
Great video…very informative instructions, although the music was loud and obnoxious.
Love the video, where did you get the clips from, or did you make them?

Mold? Holstermold or multimold?

My opinion, the music gets annoying. (12 minutes of the same 30-second riff.) Just food for thought going forward.
