Tape measure tool to scale (scales the whole model). With tape measure tool selected, click on one end of your known dimension and then click on the other end of that known dimension. Without doing anything else, type in the dimension that it should be (using an apostrophe if it’s feet), and tap ENTER. SketchUp will ask if it’s ok to scale the whole model, click yes and watch the magic. Use the line tool to check that your dimensions are correct. Works really well if you use top view and also have a scale in the drawing!
You can use the tape measure tool to scale. Like you did with the line tool just measure the street and then type in the distance that it should be. In this case 5’. You will get a dialogue box that asks if you want to resize. . Select “yes” and it will resize it for you.
This is timely as I am creating a design class project with this requirement. However, may I know your thoughts with using drawing tablets versus the ipad in digital plans?
Great im glad you found this video helpful! But my thoughts on the ipad vs a tablet are that they are both great in my opinion, I just happen to use the iPad for more than just land arch so it was worth the purchase to me more! But some entry level tablets are great and work really well with all the standard programs too!
Great explanation of the workflow between apps. I think you can use the scale tool in sketchup to measure a know dimension in the import drawing and type in the true size and you get promoted to resize the model
Hello, did you save the bus as a layer by itself so you can color it by itself on morpholio? (I'm curious on the step where you were able to color the bus by itself)
Awesome tutorial! Is all of this possible with the free version of Sketchup aswell? If someone has Vectorworks or ArchiCad and is able to create some 3D models would you still recommend Sketchup over the other ones?
Hi! Im not sure if you could do this with the free version.. I would think that you could... but if you are using something like vectorworks or archicad you could certainly use those programs! The process for the modelling is very simple and straightforward so any 3d software will work great!
You certainly can, you could either dial back the lineweight of that individual layer (why I like to do shadows on it's own layer) or put a mask over the whole drawing to lighten it up.. it rreally comes down to personal preference. I tend to do both!
When you are in the text menu there are a couple icons at the bottom of the screen where you can change font and size, they have some good options that look like architects hand writing.

That is the best way to do it!
Ahh this works! Very similar process to AutoCad! Thank you!
I felt like I found a treasure when I discovered your channel!!

Thank you! Not sure why I never knew that
this is awesome, definitely using this for my next student project
Thank you! Hope your next project goes well!
Great tutorial, thank you ! 😊
Thank you!!
amazing lesson! Greetings from brazil! thanks !
Thank you! Hello from the states!
New video! Thanks for your work ❤️
Thank you for watching and supporting!
Great tips. I haven't used morpholio but use sketch up quite often
Thank you, Sketch up is the best of course
Thanks again 💪
Of course! happy to share ideas!
loveee it
Thank you!

Thank you for the suggestion! This worked!

Yes! In general I use lots of layers either morpholio so that way I can customize things as much as possible as if I was using actual trace paper

Maybe export a vector as dwg then import into sketcup?
That could work
Did you put a white fill over the shadows to pare them back?

which software did u use for hand rendering?
Either morpholio trace or concepts!
is there a alternative to Morpholio trace designing landscape
What are you looking for?
@@DesignItGreen im a landscape architect student who doesn't own a ipad but android tablet.
Probably use google sketch or adobe draw I think! Procreate might be t here too
Can you try to sketch directly on a 3d model directly in morpholio
Not sure what you mean, I am sketching right over a 3D model in this video
I suppose what they are referring to is, exporting the sketchup model to "USDZ" or "OBJ" then import in Trace
Hello! How did you get the landscape lettering as a font?
When you are in the text menu there are a couple icons at the bottom of the screen where you can change font and size, they have some good options that look like architects hand writing.
Thank you!

Hi, please can you send me a link to your portifolio where yuou do more of thr designs?
