LYRICS:
Since I came to know you baibe
I've been telling you how sweet you are
I've been telling you how good you are
Now I want you try to tell me how I look
Tell me please tell me how I look
You look so good
Fantastic man
Since I came to know you baibe
I've been telling you how good you are
I've been telling you how sweet you are
I've been telling you how lovely you are
I've been telling you how nice you are
Now I want you try to tell me how I look
Look at me baibe, look at me
Look at me, my girl look at me
I want you try to tell me
how you feel about me baibe
I want you to tell me how I look
Tell me please tell me how I look
Tell me please tell me how I look
You look so good
Fantastic Man
I love the innocence of this song. He wants the woman he loves to tell him that she thinks he's beautiful too. I guess in a way the song is saying we all want to feel beautiful, even men!
Mine leave once the service is over.
@Vladamir Poutine thanks 😃
Men actually remember compliments from years ago.
It even became a meme. Sad but true.
you look sooo good, fantastic man
This album is the reason I lived through the winter two years ago when my 2 best friends died and my fiancé left me.
🍒☀️ How about an update? 😁
Life is like a bowl of Cherries 🍒☀️😁
Happier days?
, I am amazed you were able to endure so much loss and pain in such a short period of time. Love and peace and calm be with you.
Hey Cherry 4 years on I hope life is better for you.
Plot twist: He found out his fiance was sleeping with his best friends, killed them, and she ran off through the woods never to be seen again. This song makes everything better.
It is such a fine reason to live. x
so love of Otis and Ruby bought us back to this masterpiece. how lovely
the best song!
@marilyn rogue Sex Education (Netflix series)
What's interesting is that before I learned this song was released in 1979, I was totally convinced that it was new, from an up and coming artist. A sign of a true transcendent artist...their works are relevant in any era.
as did I!! well said!. now I know where up and coming artists get it from..
Same! I just heard it on a college radio station this weekend. Thought it was some new shit! Can't believe 1979. Timeless!
Same oh my god!
70s synths age better
physically impossible to dislike Mr. Onyeabor's music. this is some of the hottest jams about the globe.
Reuben Cf I agree
it is physically impossible for me to disagree with Reuben's assessment of William Onyeabor's music
agreed
the synth is dumb
Reuben Cf I agree. Since it’s impossible to disagree with something physically as emotions and mental force ie influence on the brain originate from purely metaphysical sources.
Wonderful song. Best listened to wearing a suit, tie and cowboy hat.
No one has seen the second episode of the 3rd season yet, but they will
Just did lol great episode
Saw it but heard this song before on apple radio

R.I.P my sweet Nigerian prince
My first encounter with this song was in Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show. David Byrne was performing it. The singer Willium Onyeabor is a mystery man and the song is really a fantastic one. I liked it so much
You are so right...David Byrne did a great performance of William Onyeabor's song.
the two twins are the lijadu sisters i highly recommend u checking them out!
he fied. some comments say it.
+Lynnette Lewis thats died
Fellow cushite,couldn't agree more
This will be one the songs that we can play for the aliens so they don't blow us up for being the most worthless species in the galaxy.
THANK YOU MR. WILLIAM ONYEABOR FOR SAVING OUR PLANET
This is one of those songs that existed in the universe before it was made. Every now and then I hear a new song for the first time, but it feels like it's been around forever. Something about the way he hits a few notes and transitions to others.

African Psychedelic Reggae Music .. From The 70"s.
How can it get any better than that? :)
Better? I don't know how. But in case you haven't heard them, check out Kiki Gyan and Fela Kuti.
Dude, that farty keyboard solo is gold.
I heard this song on the H&M commercial. I had to google to find it:) happy I found it! Yeah!
Its first african venyl music in 60s.he studied in moscow

Every single time 😃
Never fails!!!
Absolutely!
I heard this song on an ad, I used shazam and then fell in love with it 😍😍
Dave Bryne rocked this tune out on Fallon the other night..............I was so blown away by what he was singing in a suit and red cowboy hat! That single amazing performance lead me to here..............this has changed my musical palette 100 fold!!!!!!!
Steely Fan David Byrne is an O.G. Hipster extraordinaire.😁
He covered this?
Not sure that people were listening to the Nigerian synth-funk maverick William Onyeabor at barbecues in the east Midlands in 1990 as seen in the brilliant "This is England 90" however it did remind of the genius of “Fantastic Man”. Thanks Shane Meadows.
nigey b milky origins could of been Nigerian or likely Jamaican or something but still as well he is a stoner so is woody and it's a chill and good song so some might off its not like every1 in the show is listening 2 madchester stuff
My little brother showed me this track and oh wow i love him so much
incest! gross!
sounds like your brothers got great taste in tunes!
Funny my older showed me this track awhile ago. Was random but its a jam you can't just sit to lol
@@mikeanctil7063 melt
Good morning! May a warm cup coffee and this song bless your day.
That organ solo should be put on a rocket and sent into outerspace for the aliens.
It is the height of human accomplishment
TRUEiMPROrecords it would instantly kill them
The thing that really gets me is that even the recording itself is virtually perfect. I wish I knew more about him, but I have looked, and it seems as if it is lost to time. I know he was a successful businessman and that's how he afforded the gear, but beyond that (?)
Agreed
It's freakin ridiculous
Sounds like Bowie's sound and vision, with an African funk twist, great tune...
Slipping into my solitude, over my head.
I consider myself fairly musically astute across a wide range of genres, but I just heard this being played for the first time tonight on a streaming college station in Winnepeg (CJUM), while I was walking my dog in the suburbs of Seattle-Tacoma. In the first few seconds, I immediately thought of Bowie's S&V as well. Imagine my surprise when I learned from the DJs that this came from a man that was a legend in Africa. I definitely dig this as much as Bowie's classic. Music is indeed the greatest uniter ever devised.
Tune
Great call
I totally hear it...good call
RIP William. A fantastic man.
A great way to start a morning is to listen to this song.
Currently used without lyrics in the UK by BT on their adverts (hope they are paying royalties)
This is a groove the old schoolers call "in the pocket" 👏🏽🕺
this is England 90 has introduced me to this fantastic musician. Thanks Shane Meadows!
This came up randomly on my UA-cam music app...I thought it was some twee 2010 San Fran or French hipster shit at first because it sounds so fresh -- can't believe it's decades old! This is so good!!!!
I love it when commercials introduce me to awesome songs and artists...this is a keeper!!
The phone commercial where they're in a barbershop. Lol
...hell yeah.
H&M kids wear? Me too!
The Apple iPhone 7 Plus Barbershop commercial brought me back to a banger I forgot existed
Scartissueissues Z yeet

Oh wow! Danced around the kitchen after hearing this on Radio 6 this morning, now to find out he is no more. R.I.P. - posthumously unfortunately, I will discover you...what a groove.
First stumbled across this ages ago.... Just came back here today randomly to blaze it up to the crazy synths at the end of the tune and I'm reading all the comments about him passing away. Sad times 😢 RIP Fantastic man, God bless and thank you! 👍🇳🇬❤️
This is one of the best tunes to have ever tickled my earbones. I hope you are still composing in Heaven, good sir. Thanks for all your fantastic musical works, William Onyeabor!

a fantastic man indeed
RIP sir! thanks for everything
That new iPhone ad in the barbershop set me. That thing ended up selling me on killer music rather than their device

This guy basically invented Hot Chip way back in the 70s.
Earl Lemongrab omg so true !!!
did you discover him through their cover of atomic bomb?
lol just came here from.listening to them
Wait what? How did he invent Hot Chip? I love Hot Chip but this doesn't sound particularly like them.
@@k-leb4671there's always one
It’s crazy my dad used to play this non stop in the early 2000’s and now sex education brought back the memories lol.
I have no idea what this song is about but it is fun to dance to.
His name is William Onyeabor, he's from the 70's

Indeed, what a song for a bbq
+Warren “smooth364” Murphy me too... although do you reckon they'd have been listening to this at a 1990 BBQ? You had to be pretty damn cool to know about it before the reissues!
Warren Wayne Murphy woody dancing in the bbq scene always makes me laugh
Warren Wayne Murphy lol no one believes you ; you heard it first like the rest of us on This is England. You were never cool and you ain't cool now
Very catchy tune. Reminds me of the brilliant barbecue scene in the superb 'This is England 90.'
