As someone who was also born in '90, I grew up listening to my dad's albums of AC/DC, LED Zeppelin, CCR, etc. I feel like people are really narrow-minded to say rock has been dead for some time. Rock has constantly been around for the past several decades, it's just a little heavier and chunkier. Noticing bands like Greta Van Fleet and The Struts proves a revivalism of "classic rock" is on the way.
Man! Brother Sam carries a ton in this band. Beautiful and melodic bass lines. Sure goes a long way. I love the simplicity of this band. It’s direct and to the point

I'll just make one comment because I don't get into it with haters. #1 the quality of the sound on this is the best I've heard of their concert vids but beyond that #2. you have to give these guys some credit...they are superb musicians and frankly with Zep long gone into retirement I find it refreshing to have a young group writing their own stuff and pulling it off with amazing power! These guys are pulling the crowds in a whole new generation and I love their stuff! (In my 60's)

Led Zep did not rip off old black blues musicians, I admit it is true that they have a lot, and I mean a lot of covers of old blues songs ( like a lot ), but honestly they improved on them and made those songs better. By saying Led Zep are rip -offs you're bassically saying the Beatles, Elvis, and many other musicians are rip-offs. And Greta is heavily inspired by them, and they do sound wayyyy to much alike. But they do have a lot of talents and hopefully they can make their own sound.
I just love these guys and as a 57 year old rock fan brought up on the likes of Zeppelin, Free, Bad Company and the like, that takes some doing these days. This is the first band in God knows how many years to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. To see 4 young kids with guitars and drums rock it out like this is truly majestic. Go back and listen to Rush's first album again. KISS picked them up to tour with them BECAUSE they sounded like Zeppelin. 3 years later they were putting out Prog masterpieces. Give the kids some time, they're talented enough, but they need to grow from here. This is a phenomenal start, but if they do 3 albums like this one, they'll become irrelevant real quick.

He sounds like Robert Plant at times but not completely. Josh has a mix of many different singers in his sound and to label them Zeppelin copy cats is selling them short. They're obviously talented and the important thing is for them to continue to grow as songwriters. And for the record, I hate drum solos. (LOL)

I agree! if you listen to their full album, half of the songs do not sound like Zeppelin. Greta has the chops and the musical listening background to blow the chops off of any "rock" band that has come and gone since the early 90's. Rival Sons and The Shelters are the only other bands that I put into this category.

Go back and listen to Rush's first album again. KISS picked them up to tour with them BECAUSE they sounded like Zeppelin. 3 years later they were putting out Prog masterpieces. Give the kids some time, they're talented enough, but they need to grow from here. This is a phenomenal start, but if they do 3 albums like this one, they'll become irrelevant real quick.

Greta Van Fleet is bringing back the classic rock sound that has vanished for so long. I don’t understand when people say they are ripping off Zeppelin. They may sound like Zeppelin but thats just the classic rock sound thats been gone for so long. Its time people stop hating on 4 very gifted musicians and start to appreciate them for reviving classic rock

I grew up in the 80's Hard Rock Scene singing and playing in that Genre, These guys are the only music that has mattered since, They actually can Sing and play their instruments, Their is Hope, Thank You Guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He sounds like Robert Plant at times but not completely. Josh has a mix of many different singers in his sound and to label them Zeppelin copy cats is selling them short. They're obviously talented and the important thing is for them to continue to grow as songwriters. And for the record, I hate drum solos. (LOL)
Dana James He actually has more power than Plant did, if that’s possible. You can’t fake that voice. It’s there or it’s not.
Thomas Armstrong His twin brother has the same voice. Interesting to see how he sings a ballad?
He sounds identical to Plant at times, but most of the time he sounds more like early Geddy Lee IMO
He has also a bit of Axl's voice
He doesn't have the bass in his voice that Plant had in his early years.

i keep seeing people bag on these guys. but would you rather have dudes like this influence a new generation of kids or the EDB crap that takes up 90% of the radio. rock needs a revival and if it take someone sounding like the zepp to do it im happy about it
Good point. Led Zeppelin's original music will truly stand the test of time. But these guys should just continue with being a Led Zeppelin tribute band cause they're very good at copying them.But I would also really love to hear what original music these guys could write on their own. So much potential there. Dude your not Jimmy Page and I think stalking is a felony.
felix brown Try listening to their songs Flower Power and Black Smoke Rising. I think these guys are getting closer to finding their own sound as proof from those songs. These guys are young and have only released an EP. Only time will tell.
I agree! if you listen to their full album, half of the songs do not sound like Zeppelin. Greta has the chops and the musical listening background to blow the chops off of any "rock" band that has come and gone since the early 90's. Rival Sons and The Shelters are the only other bands that I put into this category.
