What a lovely dose of Cornish summer - just what we need after the storm last weekend and what is about to hit us this weekend. It's amazing how you find such tranquil places when all the main attractions are swarming. Really, really enjoyed this - thank you.
I live here and have since I was 12 y/o. Prussia Cove is just glorious and my favourite time to visit is actually January/February. Penwith in winter is magnificent with its ancient sites and moody landscapes and seascapes.
Sky High Diamonds my husband and I are choosing to holiday in Cornwall this summer. We thought our cash would be more appreciated staying within England this summer 🏴 🏴 🏴 but I totally agree with you that winter skies, choppy seas and high winds can give a beautiful landscape
One of my favourite places have been going here since i was a kid would cycle over from hayle to go fishing 🐟 now i go there often in the summer to go snorkeling and photograph and film the fish 🐟and wildlife. It is also a spectacular seascape.Thanks for sharing your video 👍
As a kid growing up in Mousehole in the 50's I was always told that HMS Warspite, (I was making an Airfix model of her at the time), was wrecked near Prussia Cove in 1947. Wiki seems to confirm it!
@@CornishWalkingTrails Yes, I'm not too sure about that. Certainly they knew all the rocks and reefs et al and would, in all likelihood, have used smaller boats .A small fishing industry did operate for many years out of the Cove. John Carter is of course the most infamous of locals!
Amazing! I’ve walked this place before with my Parents and my brother last year. lovely little place. Going back down to Cornwall in the summer, I’m very excited!
When I was a small boy my father and mother took my sister and I to see HMS Warspite which ended up here in Prussia cove, having broken away from the tug towing it to the scrap yard, it was awesome, a huge ship in this small cove. It was subsequently refloated and towed away but broke away again and ended up next to St Michaels Mount, where it was decided to break it up
A bit different from the last video!! Sunshine.....Yay! And where were all the smugglers then?!! This one viewed in silent mode I am afraid...so, apologies if you mentioned that the original Poldark series from the 70s filmed some episodes here! Gosh, I can't wait for the warmer weather to arrive after watching this. Bracing myself for another wind swept weekend with Dennis now! J x
What a gorgeous spot to enjoy a summer’s day, looks heavenly!! Especially on a frosty, 29 f morning lol. Really brings history to life seeing those tracks in the rock, seriously dedicated smugglers. Hope all is well , no signs of spring here yet , I secretly am hoping for just one enormous snow before winter comes to an end🤞Then we can bring on Spring lol, sending lots of happiness your way, Lori
I really enjoyed this video :) Prussia Cove is part of our first day of walking in June. We will definitely check out the caves and the traces of contraband and perhaps (...?...) take a dip in the presumably cold water on the lovely beach :-) Looks tempting in the video, but perhaps we chicken out ;-)

I never forget what summer feels like!! Love it❤️swimming all day, hot balmy nights and cool air-conditioned rooms, well in Greece anyway!!🏝️🏖️🌅

It was really hot and I soooo wanted to have a swim when we were there but we were not prepared for taking a dip! Sarah :)
