Our theory on the fungicide is that if the corn is stressed, it's best to spray with a ground rig at that 20 gal an acre rate, but if the corn is healthy, you can go lower on the volume of carrier. This is just what we have found on our farm. It's good to see it looks that way on your maps, too.
Great analysis! Irrigation makes a huge difference--but we knew that already. The 360Rain is obviously a big upgrade over the hard-hose traveler and it was cool watching you work with it this year. Any estimate for how long it will take to pay off, when you consider the improved coverage and reduced labor for you and your team?
Although I don't grow corn / soybeans / wheat, it's interesting to see the results. I remember all of these applications throughout the past year and it is interesting to see the final results. I wish I could be involved in trials like this. I'm looking forward to following along with next year's adventures.
The only test I had come out positive this year was increasing our liquid sidedress pass by 4 gallons per acre. Gave me a 10-13 bushel increase in a couple different fields.
Great video, it's nice to see some of my neighbors in Clarksville make the list. Had a feeling it was going to be a good year around here, the rain came when it was needed.
Really ENJOY watching your COMPARISON on what you have done on your crops cant wait to see what you have planned for next year and that Drone in Action!!! Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!
HEY HEY NATHAN!!! and CREW!! :) was watching the TRACTOR PULLS and saw ''GOLDEN HARVEST'' and the SMILIE GENE SIMMONS TOUNGE STIKIN OUT logo ;) not really but inmy mind *I* saw the ''sprout'' as GENE SIMMONS's long mouth thang... lol ;) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH anyhow, HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! HAPPY HOLY DAYS !!! I hope you had a MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!! and MAKE GOOD CHOICES !!!! :) BE GOOD DO GOOD and THINK NO THING BUT GOOD THOUGHTS !!! it all matters!!! LOVE TO YOU ALL !!! :)
So, the theory could be if the plant gets its nutrients via roots, it wouldn't absorb much more via foliar, but when the soil is depleted it works via leaf? But maybe it's the environment/climate on the day of spraying? Maybe a test plot with different days of spraying would be interesting.
Kinda. I don't usually count fall applied N as contributing to next year's corn crop but with the chicken litter we have found at least part of the organic N is still there and feeding the crop. The ammonia N is gone by spring. I usually reduce N rates by about 15% where we put chicken litter.
We’re on opposite ends of the ag spectrum as far as how we farm. Organic no till, controlled traffic, full circle including protein, vs. very much information based conventional. I’ll give you this, you are straight up, putting yourself in the public takes a lot of something that I don’t have in me, and quite frankly, you are anal enough to farm like me, and be good/successful at it. That last part is a huge compliment. I’ve had conventional producers approach me and expect me to tell them if it would work for them. I tell 99% “no, you’ll go broke” … because that’s the honest truth. If a conventional producer isn’t working twice as hard as all their peers already, they will never survive the transition. You would, hands down. Cheers😅
Where the hagie ran out and upped the carrier rate his boom lines weren't mixed for a higher carrier rate..like ur previous map where ur dad sprayed. That couple rounds probably got 33% extra fungicide. I figure 30-40 gallons in all the lines
@1:01:00 you talk about carrier rates and going to drone spraying. If you drone spray twice, would it be the same effect as if you used conventional ground spraying?
3:33 well then, NEXT YEARS TARGET: 360 !!! no... 360PLUS !!!!! FEED THE HECK OUTTA THAT STUFF WITH THE 360RAIN and PUMP UP THE CORN .... WE LIKE THE CORN !!! :) itzgotdajuice!! lol
You do a great job of analyzing the benefits of each application of products on the crops, but you never look at fuel consumption. In the past you have said that fuel is just the cost of doing business, so you don't track it. What is the difference in fuel consumption when chiseling 9 inches deep versus discing 6 inches deep?
It would be an interesting video if you did profitability of corn wheat and bean with current input and sale prices. No need to divulge your own data but use average price and rough yield and sale prices in your ball park. Show where things lie financially and examples of new tractor bean planter or sprayer costs so viewers understand reality instead of say "oh buy a new 9R"

Enjoy the ski slopes! As a Colorado native I have never skied! At 51 doubtful I ever will, I would rather be warm than play in the snow.

An early Happy New Year to the Borderview Farms family, God Bless all y’all 🇺🇸
Happy new year and happy anniversary!! Enjoy the slopes!
Nice job showing yield results. Interesting, Thanks.
Good morning. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
Happy new year to everyone
Did you do any testing on V5 fungicide application this year?
Not by itself no. It's one if the things I've proven works and is very cheap to apply so I just do it.
Great video, it's nice to see some of my neighbors in Clarksville make the list. Had a feeling it was going to be a good year around here, the rain came when it was needed.
It's been very profitable in 2024 despite being a very wet year around here
Happy New Year and Anniversary. Thank you!!!
Can not wait to see what you try next.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Happy new year, Nathan and the whole family.
Good afternoon from Lebanon, Ohio.
❤ from Norway
I have heard as you probably have to that spraying fungicide early in the morning when there is still dew on the corn can help with coverage
Yeah I have butit's not feasible to get everything sprayed only working say 6 to 10.
So, the theory could be if the plant gets its nutrients via roots, it wouldn't absorb much more via foliar, but when the soil is depleted it works via leaf?
But maybe it's the environment/climate on the day of spraying? Maybe a test plot with different days of spraying would be interesting.
Is the chicken litter nitrogen included in your nitrogen goal?
Kinda. I don't usually count fall applied N as contributing to next year's corn crop but with the chicken litter we have found at least part of the organic N is still there and feeding the crop. The ammonia N is gone by spring. I usually reduce N rates by about 15% where we put chicken litter.

Thanks for the information . great video
You should do an irrigated plot next year
Good morning Nathan
Our worst beans were our longest season irritated beans cost
Good morning
I recommend doing skip passes when doing trials. Fields can vary alot with elevation
Your early season corn is our really pushing the growing window late season corn. 😂
Great content as always Nathan!
Could you do 2 passes with the drone in order to equalize the carrier rate issue found here?
Holy cow, that's interesting stuff right here.
Where the hagie ran out and upped the carrier rate his boom lines weren't mixed for a higher carrier rate..like ur previous map where ur dad sprayed. That couple rounds probably got 33% extra fungicide. I figure 30-40 gallons in all the lines
Did you have any noticeable results from where you spread urea this spring?
Not really it worked fine but I never got application maps from my retailer that did the spreading and there weren't really any check strips.
2025!!!!!!!
@1:01:00 you talk about carrier rates and going to drone spraying. If you drone spray twice, would it be the same effect as if you used conventional ground spraying?
How about the fish stuff you where putting on?
That wasn't me
3:33 well then, NEXT YEARS TARGET: 360 !!! no... 360PLUS !!!!! FEED THE HECK OUTTA THAT STUFF WITH THE 360RAIN and PUMP UP THE CORN .... WE LIKE THE CORN !!! :) itzgotdajuice!! lol
Was there any noticeable difference in the chicken water or did I miss that info ?
You missed that
You do a great job of analyzing the benefits of each application of products on the crops, but you never look at fuel consumption. In the past you have said that fuel is just the cost of doing business, so you don't track it. What is the difference in fuel consumption when chiseling 9 inches deep versus discing 6 inches deep?
Insignificant, maybe half a gallon per acre but I'd be surprised if it's that much. Your talking about less the $2 an acre
Nathan could it be that soybeans need some stress to encourage the plant to reproduce?
Soybeans seem to like getting beat up when they are little

Aren’t the Goliath feeds the ones that have redicoulas low amount like an 1 or 2 ounces an acre? If so there is no way it can make a difference!
Goliath?
Tried the source products on my corn and beans…Garbage!
