@@illyricus. crazy how that means Vegeta needed to be stronger than Goku instead of desiring to be stronger when he first went ssj.
@@TalksAboutRNG it's the opposite for Vegeta. Goku and Gohan are practically humans, BC they were raised as such and have human connections. So to them power comes in response to a need which would be to protect their loved ones.
Vegeta on the other hand is the typical saiyan who that only lived to fight. They didn't have human morals nor their affection hence for them power stems from desire/jealousy etc, bc in Saiyans kind have a superiority complex and when they're faced with someone superior to them, they desire more strength to become better than the opposition.
Tl;Dr the quote only works for human-like creatures personality wise, which Saiyans are not.

I've been saying for years that what super is missing is the powerful soundrack of Z. as much as people complain about the animation style, music is EVERYTHING.

You mean the legendary super Saiyan. Super Saiyan two is the true form of super Saiyan. The others just tapped into an appetizer.
I grew up weak, I grew up small. I grew up with Gohan, so I always resonated with his character. Thank you Toriyama for giving me bursts of confidence. Rest in peace. We will never forget you.

Listening to stuff like this has resulted in many of the other songs ending up in my playlist occasionally. They all so perfectly capture each character. You can feel gokus freedom and excitement, vegetas reckless abandon and singular focus, gohans is the most complex. As you said you can feel all those emotions, but you can feel their movement too. How one feeds into the other, changing it in the process and passing it along. You feel his childhood and innocence being burned away. I always got the impression that's what really pissed him off. He was sad about what cell was doing to others, but he was PISSED that he had to kill that part of himself to stop cell.
I got 6 hours of work done before this song was over.

I really wish Gohan had become the main character during this arc.
Even Goku himself stated that Gohan had ridiculous amount of talent and potential, much more than him.
But the author decided to go back on it, and Gohan just became the son who never truly surpassed his father in the end.
I hope if they make a new series, we get Gohan to become the main character.

official petition to redo all of super, movies and subsequent episodes with modernise versions of the bruce faulconer songs. Animators don't realise just how much weight the music carries over the show, and nobody has done it better for dragonball than DBZ. Imagine seeing Gohan go to beast mode with this backing it. or vegeta's final flash in the TOP with his theme!

This composition, to me, completely misses the mark of pauses, strong stop timings and restarts and blend everything into a straight and *flat* piece. It fails to deliver the "Restrained then volcano bursting" kind of feeling from the original. Orchestration is superb and well made, I still had a lot of fun listening to it and contemplating the memories of my past with it.
RIP Akiraya Toriyama.

@AnthonyLoReMusic I do appreciate its not the most helpful bit of critique. But Gohan's anger is meant to represent and overflow and then an explosion of emotion and pain given how he didn't want to give in. Because that moment never comes in the track it loses something is all. Again it sounds nice, but in terms of a good Gohans Anger cover, and admittedly there's bloody loads that sound the same or worse, it's lacking that impact it needs to be great.
Goku and Vegeta should never have gotten Super Saiyan 2. Gohan should have taken the mantel as Earth's most powerful warrior.
It's tone wise muted, far from epic. The notes are softened.
