Great instructional video. I am about to try carving a gun stock and gonna start watching your videos first. This was my first of your gun stock videos. Great job, Rob!
Great job. Please can you send some advise my way. I'm a total nub on this and my project is no way as fine and detailed as yours. I have a unfinished M1 Carbine stock and I would like to add the side Sling Cut Out that is on the butt of the rifle. Its just 3" x 1". You can see it on WIKI the first photo at the top right. What bits would you recommend for cutting this out. I was going to order it from Amazon. Thank you
Hi Kevin thanks I have replaced a few of these stocks . Most of the time the guys didn't want the side sling lol . If I was going the cut In the side sling hole i would use a milling machine. To do it by hand I would use a drill press for the slot and good flat file to smooth out the slot and a good super sharp Chisel for the ramp Stay safe Just carve
Hey Rob.. This can't be the same stock you been carving on for the last 48 day's is it ?? You need to glue a 2 x 4 on back side of that stock, i know there's no more wood back there.. You have burned up 6 bits and set two Dremel's on fire.... Man, that thing is looked good, See Ya, Texas
