      the nhl players today do half a minute to a minute. a "long shift" is over a minute. players get gassed at 1 min and 30 seconds usually, so this long of a shift is incredible.

    Spoiler alert, this year they won the Stanley cup. Alec Kovalev had so much talent, it's only sad he became a lazy player, he could've put his name besides the greatest players.

    • @dirtybirdambrose
      @dirtybirdambrose 6 років тому +2

      The idea that Kovalev was lazy is so, so, cliche. The guy had a 20-year career, scored 430 goals and had more than 1,000 points, all while playing most of his career in the dead puck era.
      Kovalev had flaws, mainly that he didn't really play much defense. But you simply can't be lazy and have the career he had

    • @ejectorseatreservation3869
      @ejectorseatreservation3869 5 років тому

  • @veggieoilerfan2940
    @veggieoilerfan2940 5 років тому

    Why did Mark Messier go directly to the locker room when he got a hooking penalty with 14 seconds left in the second period? Since it was only a two minute minor penalty, there was the possibility that the penalty could have automatically ended if the Bruins would have scored a quick power play goal before the end of the second period. I know a player will normally always go directly to the locker room if he gets a five minute major penalty with less than five minutes left in a period. I always thought that a player would normally go to the penalty box if there was any chance that his penalty could end before the period was over.
