Love your Fastback of course. But I have a couple of issues to point out. That steering column, man. It’s loose. You and your mechanic don’t notice it? It’s dangerous too. Also, for all the money you have spent, ride and new Coyote engine…get rid of that cheap Chinese-made 5-bolt Forever Sharp steering wheel (too reddish as well).. Get yourself instead a proper British-made dished Cobra-style Moto-Lita 9-bolt steering wheel (12 rivets look better than 18 rivets). Choose thicker wood over standard. You can opt for the dark brown wood to compliment the black exterior and interior. Your Fastback would look more awesome and stylish with it. Speaking from experience as I had a Forever Sharp and replaced it with a Moto-Lita. It’s like night and day. Nice video. Peace.
Best recommendation in the comments sections. Yes, Forever Sharp are cheap steering wheels.. The Moto-Lita is world class. That British company started making steering wheels for planes…then to cars. They are the original ones for the AC Cobra and Shelby Mustang. They have a 3 month waiting list though, but well worth it. Places like CJ Pony Parts makes a Chinese Moto-Lita replica, but with cheaper materials and workmanship. Nothing like the British original. If he orders it directly from Moto-Lita, he should also order the F-24 boss adapter (steering wheel hub) as well. Expect about $500 delivered to the USA. Again, good recommendation, dude.
Forget the steering wheel. I’m more worried about that loose steering column. How can’t he notice it?
@@psychomormon4932 Preach! I also recommend the 14” steering wheel. I found the 15” too big and the 13” too small. The 14” is just the right size.
@@concernedcitizen2820 I know, mind-boggling.
Look how beautiful and classy the Moto-Lita steering wheel looks in this Fastback…gorgeous work of art…

Good luck mate, looking forward to see what happened.
Ill keep you updated
If possible, could you do a price breakdown and anything you should have done differently for people looking to do something similar?
Ill defintely make a video on that
Why did he leave the air filter propped up on the fender like that?
Can't help but notice the wheel move so much during your drive. Only noticed it because it was a common issue on my 67 mustangs tilt shift column. WELL worth the upgraded ididit column upgrade. Cheers!
Sweet ride man. It'll always have issues. It will ever end. And that's part of the fun. That steering column flopping around tho. 😩
Im going to fix the steering soon!
@@NateRider steering column is an intimidating fix for a lot of people. It would make a great video from start to finish. I think it would be a popular upload man. Especially if it helped people build the confidence to do their own fix 😎👍
Lovely build my brotha good luck 🎉
Thank you!
sounds like its running to lean
If it floats at 15 just cruising it’s def too lean holy shit. Then spikes to 20?? Dude he’s so lucky he didn’t put a rod out the block
Does it? I thought it was running to rich
@NateRider yah I can tell just hearing it thats why you always get a professional tune before test drive so your fuel/air ratio is set it can damage the engine
@@TheBigChad that's perfectly fine afr on pump gas for cruising. even a lean spike to 20 with no load is not going to throw a rod thru the block.
Keep us posted!
I will asap
I didn't realize the engine was locked out and degreed. Is it on a stock / stock'ish tune? If so, no wonder it's throwing a bunch of timing codes. A solid tune should clear most of that up. Is/are the fuel pump(s) internal or external?
Damn man at least you made it halfway 🔥💯 keep it up. It will run again.‼️
Thank you! Ill keep you updated
dang! i was hoping the gremlins would pass you by. can't wait for you to get past this minor setback and back on the highway!
She'll be back and running!
What ECU are you using in this thing? Probably should have a holy dominator in it. Your fuel trims are way out. Probably timing as well. Take it to an experienced tuner and get them to run tests on it and verify it is all correctly working. Then tune it. Check fuel pressures as well.
Ok your A/F if the car is not tuned with that air box put factory air box back on I bet it works
Ill try that out
As someone with a couple old school cars I hate to hear this but it's part of the game. I just hope you get it up and running in no time bro beans 💪🏽😎
Yessir! All part of the game. Thanks for the support
@@NateRider no problem bro. I already know how it is with them classic cars. I'll be there soon with you with a c7 zo6 as well.
I would pull the plugs on 3 and 8 ..do a compression test before I would do anything else…honestly I would pull all the plugs and do a compression test..That would be my first step..besides getting a tune with those injectors..I hope you didn’t hurt the motor..
Ill check that out!
Cool project and Great video! You will be able to fix this. But I'm not too sure about the shop you deal with. I don't know if it's part of the deal, but why he took the decision to call you at the first place to pickup your car as it seemed to be in a really rough shape. He let you go on public roads without any stable tune calibration, with that loose Steering wheel 🥶, made me worried about your brakes also. We're all behind you Nate and stay safe.
Yea it seemed a little shady maybe he needs to contact his tuner and get the car dialoged and u always have to do the crankshaft relearn after u get in a new tune dialed in
Thanks brotha! Car was running fine. Tuner said it was okay. I made the decision to drive it so its my fault but we will figure it out.
hit it with your purse. hopefully you get it running beautiful build
The Engine sounded weird fro the start to me. Maybe down a hole or two?
I think there is a nut behind the wheel that can be impacted down a bit to get rid of the wheel loose/wobble
Ill check it out thank you
Check grounds brother!
Im on it!
Got to miss the old 289 small block Ford
I do miss it. It was a great motor
Aye bro it's ready to drive home. Or is it?
SO NOBODY IS GONNA TALK ABOUT HOW HE LOOKS LIKE FAZE RUG?!!!
I get that a lot lol
Definitely needs to be tuned
100%
how much did this cost if u don’t mind. i have a 70 mustang and just turned 16 and dreaming to coyote swap it when i get older.
Probably 5-8k for the engine im guessing and 3k for install. If im wrong dont come for me- do some research homie
Have a good one 🤙🏼
You got to switch tuners. Smp ain’t it
Where you get that steering wheel bro ???? Big fan!
You don’t want that steering wheel, I had one. They are cheaply made. Yeah, they kinda look nice, but trust me, they are junk. Read my other comment on it…just look for Eyes &Ears.
It came with my car!
Prolly needs a crank shaft position re learn
I think so too
@@NateRider definitely check that cause my daily did that and I went ahead and fixed the crack re learn and miss fires went away no more bogging and it was back to normal
Looks good. But for the love of Jesus put chrome bumpers one the car. The car will look so much more classy.
they don't listen i said the same thing with goonsquad's resto mod camaro.
Metal was in the engine already 😢
Why would you say it’s ready to go home then work on it for a few hours. That little stuff should’ve been done 😂 but I bet you were super hyped driving it for the first time with the yote swap. I bet your issues are all in the tune. High afr is lean which is why it probably died
Needs tuning asap shouldn’t be driving it without tune specially that far too
True Im going to get it tuned asap
Sorry about your ride dying on you. I’m sure it’s going to be an easy fix (cross fingers). You might need an alignment after your car was pulled up the ramp with the crane.
alignment is definitely needed!
15 is way too lean. 18 -20 is blow your engine lean.
15 isn't "way too lean" for regular driving on pump gas (which is what I'm assuming he's running but I didn't check)
Never have someone tune your shit unless they are the best of the best. I don’t trust anyone to tune a motor unless they have the pedigree I’m looking for. I’ve been done with my s2000 build for over a year and I just now found a tuner. I had to wait for them because they’re super busy and in demand but I won’t go to someone lesser that will grenade my motor I just spend $40k on
Also: dude your shit was on 15 just cruising and rising to 20??? That’s wayyy to lean. It needs to be in the 11,12,13 range and in between 10 and 11 when getting on it
Imma get it tuned asap
I am first
Thanks for being early!
@@NateRider I would *won't* miss any of your videos 🚗
switch tuners
He still hasn’t tuned it
@@skmd8086 yea but his tuner blew his old motor😂
Still spending daddy's money I see.
😂
Your act’s do not look ok
Man, You should leave it as it was from factory. Instead of swaping that crappy engine named coyote 5.0. carburated engines are easy to work on
nothing from this car was from factory really
Nah, that 5.0 Coyote is a solid engine, not crappy at all! Ask me how I know.
I HOPE YOU EASILY GET IT ALL DIALED IN.
same!
