Just as God is artistic, he also has a sense of humor. Sometimes the way God unfolds things is hilarious. When I see an instance of this it helps me recognize our triune God is a person and that I have a personal relationship with him. God is amazing!
Balance in humor, I believe the Holy Spirit will nudge you when you’ve crossed that line! 😊

I enjoyed the talk. I think another good perspective would be C.S. Lewis' chapter 11 of The Screwtape Letters that specifically deals with "Joy, Fun, the Joke Proper, and Flippancy" as the way he divides human laughter. I think it is also good food for thought on how to approach joking and the potential downsides as perceived by Lewis.

I am experiencing reading Rumer Godden books. Black Narcissus for example.
The nuns lost centering on Jesus. Each took herself far too seriously. Some psychological type people see it as the" sex thing"...Get serious don't be so serious. They were tragic in their obsession of introspective/ control. So yes humor may not be a virtue but it may lead to it.
I am now an old lady with a turkey neck. I get God's humor.
