I like a longer video, especially when there is great inspiration and tips. I do batch die cutting, stamping, backgrounds etc without a real plan for a specific card. But I often never use a lot of what I batch. But I don't approach it the way you do. You plan to make a set of related cards out of what you batch. I guess I just batch random things that I feel like playing with. I am going to try it the way you do it. It is all fun, but I think the arranging is the best part.
I just love Penny Black critters, especially the Halloween ones. Halloween is my favorite holiday for stamps and cards. All of these cards are so great. Love tge idea of batch processing. I have done this a couple of times before and it does seem more fun without the pressure of completing a card. Thanks for sharing your talent.
I totally loved this session with you, Jill. I've done this technique with die cut flowers and laughed out loud when you removed, added, removed again, added more color, more texture....it was definitely my style of putting a card together! Thanks
I spend a lot of my time with one action now. Die cutting, colouring, choosing papers etc. it makes me keep organized so that when the creative spirit awakes I can go crazy. It becomes fun not stressful.
I’ve recently rediscovered wooden block stamping and have most of these critters going back to 2009. I also so needed this because my teenage sweetheart & husband of 57 years died over Christmas last year on home hospice. Drowning in grief, and being treated for caregiver PTSD, I went a little crazy buying things during Christmas in July & Stamptember sales. Which only resulted in me being even more overwhelmed. .Today I’m cleaning off the stacks on my table & choosing some things for cards for hospitalized kids (I’m on the national board (we’ve sent 500,000+ cards to kids in hospitals and Ronald McDonald houses in 50 states since 2012.) Then I’ll do some calm coloring. This is so encouraging! Thank you! 🧡 ❤️🧡🩷🩵💜🤎💚
Thank you. I’m also starting a new book that should had been turned in to my publisher in September, but I’d lost my creativity. Making cards slowly brought it back.@@PennyBlackInc
I'm personally not into Halloween, but your large "BOO" card was adorable!!!! Love that you arranged the cute little elements through the O's! The slimline BOO card is also one of my favorites. I like that you leave in your decision actions about where to place things and why. I appreciate that you kept all of these cards cute instead of scary. Jill, I really enjoy your videos. I've learned so much about watercolor painting and enjoying your simpler process! Thank you!
I LOVE these videos!! I love making a bunch of stuff and then layering it together later. And yes, I play with it for a long time for placement. It actually annoys me at how long I take!!!
Never made a Halloween card before, but loved the hedgies and kitties on your cards and am thinking I'd like to try one. Loved watching your process and also loved all the great tips you have. Thanks!
This is a great video Jill! I love how you brought all those critters to life when you added color! Cutting the word Boo apart to make slim line card was brilliant! Love your videos!
Thank You, Jill❤️ I really like the fun, less spooky, also! I really enjoyed this video and got the old ticker moving😂 I’m not that old😉I totally fiddle with everything before gluing down. It can be quite the endeavor. I Love your ideas!! Thank You again for the fun!! Blessings ❤️
😂 YES! I agonise over the *smallest* details! Just like u did, I'll move things a millimetre one way or the other, n find it so hard to b satisfied unless sm1 gives me reassurance! I know what looks right, n when smthing is so close, bt not quite right, I'll spend ages tryng to get it "just so" 😂! I can laugh abt it when I'v finishd what I'm doing, bt, in the moment, I can smtimes get rather frustratd wth myself 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️! Even when a card is finishd n things r glued in place, I'll still umm n ahh, questioning my decisions! Is quite nice/reassuring to hear I'm nt the only one that does this sort of thing 😆😄!
I don’t know why I don’t think to paint my die cuts or embossed backgrounds? Thanks for the inspiration Jill! These cards are ALL so fabulous! I can’t pick just one favorite. The way you used some of the embossed element just in one corner- so simple & effective! I’m using that idea on some upcoming cards!🤗
I never used to make Halloween cards, but now that I have grandkids, I need to invest in some and your’s are just too cute!!! Thanks for sharing your process with us.
As always...your videos are an inspiration. I have started following your way of batching and it has helped a LOT!!! Thanks so much for the education Jill! Paper Hugs, Jan Castle
Hi Jill! Such great tips in today's video. I need to put together a "kit" so I can focus on a card making project with an end. I can put together one birthday card or 40 of the same holiday card, but when it comes to a project like you are doing, I'm all over the place with die cuts and stamping that don't match up. I'm stock piling for the future, but nothing works together! You always have such great advice. I just need to listen to it! Also, I need to start die cutting from water color paper. That's something I want to try next. Thanks and have a wonderful day! You're such an inspiration to us all! You are appreciated!!!❤
Thanks for so many great tips! I need to get started with creating some Christmas cards and your design ideas are always so helpful! I love your concept for creating cards this way, since I love to create different designs and not mass produce! This is a wonderful time saver in the long run! Love your videos!❤
Thank you Jill for these beautiful ideas. You are always so inspiring. You are very talented and creative. I do have one question, however…is there a reason I can’t find the Spooky edger die on the Penny Black website anymore?
Thanks for your kind words, Susan! Here is a direct link to the Spooky Edger: shop.pennyblackinc.com/products/productdetail/spooky+edger/part_number=51-799/4381.0.1.1.2268.0.0.0.0?pp=16&sort_selection=name& :) Happy creating!
Thanks Jill! I absolutely love your videos & I have started batching my supplies etc to help reduce the decision making process It’s such a freeing experience!
So enjoy watching all your videos; looking forward to the new Holiday/Winter/Christmas videos and release. Thank you so much Jill, for your great reasons and videos.
I’m going to try your unique way of doing things: cutting, embossing, coloring, deciding on layout, and finally putting my cards together. Thank you for sharing. Your cards are so adorable. I make these kind for my grand-daughters and the scary kind for grand-sons. Thank you for sharing your precious cards. I never thought of the simple words like BOO or Spooky. Another great idea. I learned a lot in a short period of time.
This is such a timely video for me. I have to have 5 thank yous and I'm definitely in a slump. So...I was reminded that I do have a bunch of immense "YOU"s cut out..and I can easily put some die cut leaves on! Yay! 🤣 Design-done, thanks Jill! ;) PB has the cutest critters, so fun.
This’s just up my street! I love these stamps for Halloween, Jill, you’re an amazing artist, your colour combinations, your painting and and the design of your cards is absolutely beautiful, thank you for sharing ❤️🇬🇧
I've been waiting too. So happy to see this video go up. Also do you use the bumpy side or smooth side of the water color paper? Your sentiments seem to stamp perfectly
Always enjoy your videos, such beautiful work! .? Would you ever consider using markers for coloring instead of watercolor? Love to see these images colored in copics
Thanks, Kay! Great suggestion- I haven't used my Copics in quite a while as I find watercolor much faster, forgiving, and easier on my hands. But that's just me- these techniques would work great with Copics, too. :)
Love the way you colores. What do you mean by brushstrokes stamps? I was conned by a lady she sold me a bunch of wood block stamps and they take so much space and to sell them take so much posting. What can I do?
A brushstroke stamp is a silhouette- style stamp where the entire image stamps, instead of just an outline/line drawing. With a brushstroke stamp you apply the color to the stamp itself using ink pads and/or markers and once stamped it looks like it was hand painted as opposed to an outline that looks stamped and then colored in. You can see some of our brushstroke stamps in action in this playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLYQnkwG8-DdQssdb1NxzB3STbk-ciqARo.html&si=_r428kV-rBv1oMD9 Happy stamping!
I love all your videos no matter the length! My favorite card is the first one with the immense BOO. Love the corner accent.
Thank YOU, Deborah!
PB & J - Great between two slices of bread, BUT BETTER ON PAPER !!! Beautiful images and creations! Thank you for sharing your amazing talent!
Awh! Thank you so much!
I most definitely do not mind longer videos when they are packed with so much inspiration and helps. I look forward to PB&J videos.
Thank you, Sally!!

I spend a lot of my time with one action now. Die cutting, colouring, choosing papers etc. it makes me keep organized so that when the creative spirit awakes I can go crazy. It becomes fun not stressful.

Adorable cards! I think debating over those little details is what takes me the MOST time, lol.
You and me both! Thanks for your comment! :)
Love your videos and cards
Thank you!
Loved watching you do the painting, I think I will try that. I have gotten hung up on using copics forgetting that I can use watercolor.
Thanks!

So many fabulous cards! Love your process!!! So adorable! Cute but not too cutesy 😊
Thank you, Judi!
Love these cards. Please do more videos of Halloween cards.
Thanks and we appreciate your feedback!
Great video Jill but I keep wondering why do you always have a band aid on one of your fingers? Are you accident prone? haha
Wonderful ideas!
Thanks, Jan!
Been waiting - so happy this morning! I always learn and get so excited to use my stuff!
That's awesome to hear- thank you!

Why don’t you do more videos? I love the way you explain and show the products without pushing for a sale😊
Thank you watching- I do them as much as time allows! :)
Thank you for your video-- I always enjoy watching you create!
Thank you so much, Anna!
Great video. I like the technique of holding the die cuts with that tape.
I've been waiting too. So happy to see this video go up. Also do you use the bumpy side or smooth side of the water color paper? Your sentiments seem to stamp perfectly
Thanks! I use the bumpy side. I stamp my sentiments in the MISTI stamp positioning tool and that helps immensely.
Great tips! going to try with my Christmas cards ❤
Great idea! Have fun!
Love your cards. I think I would be more successful if I tried this method and put off the finishing until after using an assortment of elements.
Thanks, Susan! I definitely find myself enjoying the process much more with this method. :)
I love this long video. A lot of information and ideas.

Great Ideas...If the Distress Inks dry in the pallet can the inks be used after adding water to them
love the videos, love the products... website could use some work
