Most Artists shy away from singing Acappella as it will quickly show any flaws. Thanks for another great reaction Jay! By the way, Angelina released a new version of "My Funny Valentine" on Instagram on the 14th. It is stunningly beautiful. She last did it when she was 10 years old, which is also a wonderful performance. This new version however, is crazy good!

Adele was 29 when she recorded (I don't like the word "covered" - it inaccurate) this Bob Dylan song, Angelina was 11 (this video was posted after she moved to USA, but recorded in Egil Clausens rehearsing room back in Norway in the winter of 2017).
@KristenA Thank you for your feedback :) . When I said Adele, I was referring to the album on which the song was released, not her age. You indicated that you dislike the phrase "covered!" What would you use in its place? I'd want to hear from you so that I may use your suggestion in the future.
@@JayRuller_ Adele used to name her albums according to her age (I believe) and this was her “29” album.
Why I dislike the phrase “covered”.. When I was a kid we would go to the pub on “Beatles evenings”.. Only Beatles songs, but of course the Beatles weren’t there.. it was a band covering them. Dressing like them, mimicking their mannerisms, moves (the drum kit even had a disguised Beatles logo on the bass drum), hair styles etc. Performing as close to the originals they possible could.. That’s Covering for another artist in my book.
Now all of a sudden, it means playing or singing any song by another composer. Which is ridiculous.. What about the jazz standards? It makes every musician a cover artist (and singers are musicians)... Every violinist, pianist, flautist, organist, trumpetist… opera singer.. every symphony orchestra.. every choir, ensemble groups etc …. nothing but “cover artists”. Why is being a musician suddenly supposed to mean you should also be a composer/arranger? It’s another discipline!
Add to that that all (99%) of the established singers - have a team of composers and text writers behind them (many of the most famous singing artists of the past couldn’t even read music).. Then it’s deeply unfair to brand up and coming musicians “mere cover artists”. If you perform a beloved folk tune you aren’t covering anyone.. They are just songs, melodies, pieces of music, arranged for different instruments so that gifted performers can put their souls in it and spread emotions to the listener..
PS: This rant was to explain why I don't like the expression "cover artist".. It wasn't a comment on your reaction which was very good :-)
