The kids today will never know the joy of waking up early on Sat. Morning to catch your favorite cartoons-and the excitement associated with waiting for it. Then going outside to play after they were over.
We knew up into the early 00s. ABC still did morning cartoon blocks on Saturday, they even got Disney stuff when they were bought up. Then there was the WB Kids block which did your 4KIDS Pokemon, Yugioh, Sonic, and then DC stuff like Superman, Static Shock, and original programs like Johnny Test (I didn't care for that one myself). It was all on Saturday mornings and we all got up and ran to the TV and watched until they were over, just like 80s and 90s kids did. Some channels tried to revive that a little. The Hub, back when that started, did a mix of old and new programs, but it also did cartoons periodically through the day as well. Now though, you just turn on Cartoon Network or Disney XD or Nickelodeon and there's cartoons all day long.
Today parents can be the program director. You can show your child a block of all the same shows you grew up with starting at 8 AM on Saturdays. "The Power is YOURS!"
I totally forget about Kid Video! Nostalgia city! I was born in 79 ,and I had all the best toys, cartoons, and movies. Everything was fun back then. People were totally different. I miss it sooo much! Everything was an adventure, everyday.
I was born in 1974 and I have been around to enjoy many of these shows. As a adult they are sources of a lot of great memories. Thanks so much for posting this.
Well it's Saturday morning jan 20 2018 at 10am in the living room and I'm watching this with a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch as if I was a kid in 86 I was 6 just reliving the moments of the best childhood ever!!!!! 80s baby's
So awesome to see a block of Saturday morning toons from the 80s in tact with all the commercials. Kids today have no idea what they're missing. I don't care if they do have acess to cartoons 24/7, it's just not the same as what we grew up with.
Jason Ritenour It really isn't. These were cartoons you only got on Saturdays so it made it that much more special to watch. I never thought in my lifetime there would never be Saturday morning cartoons for my kids to watch. Damn shame.
No back then it wasnt as known and thrown out there everything had better quality it was more enjoyable it was more natural rather then this youtube recreated and halfass remakes with internet fan base and shit
Funny thing about being a kid in the 80s, we had a hard a time getting up early in the morning for school. But had NO problem waking up before 7am with no alarm clock for the Saturday morning block.
xxlola101 I too miss the eighties I was six years old Saturday mornings would never be the same me and my sister in the living room eating breakfast watching cartoons all morning long till afternoon those were the days
I was 11 and in sixth grade. The 80's started when I was 5 and other than John Lennon being shot, it was a great decade. I wouldn't switch with any of the kids after us. I loved my childhood.
I 💞d the show punky Brewster . im a kid at heart. I still watch cartoons, this is when they still had decent animation. I remember the Saturday morning cartoons.
I am 36 years old and I haven't seen most of the cartoons and commercials and I am glad to. Watch them here. Thanks for the upload as I'm always interested in what was aired at the time I was born.
if i was president of the united states i promise saturday morning cartoons will be back on air because todays kids need it i will make it a law to NBC,ABC,CBS. as long as i am president! !!!
Im 44 and I remember making a bowl of cereal and getting excited to watch Saturday morning cartoons. I watch cartoon network with my 10 year old son, they show a lot of retro cartoons, flintstones, scooby doo, Tom and Jerry, smurfs and lots of others. It's so sad but unfortunately those times are gone.
love 80s original recordings i have alot that i saved and put on dvd wish alot others did too .. great to watch and show kids growing up now wht they were missing lol
Thanks for posting...I remember these shows well...I was in 11th grade at Satsuma High School here in Satsuma Alabama in 1986. I really think I enjoyed the commercials even more. The 80s was just a lot of fun...a great laid-back fun era of music, tv, clothes, fads & crazes to ever come around in my opinion. No matter how many times I try...I just can't seem to move past my beloved 80s decade.
Mom would leave our bowls out on Friday night along with either, Cinnamon Toast crunch, Lucky Charms, Coco puffs, or Capn Crunch. We'd be up like 6:30ish and watch for several hours.
Watching this video brings back memories. It also makes me wonder, "What the hell happened to this world?" in its present state. Everything just felt so much more wholesome and pleasant back then. I feel bad for any kids past, present, and future who missed out on growing up in the 1980's.
I always laugh at comments about how great it was back then when it comes to shows like these. Let's face it. We've been spoiled by the internet collecting and preserving these shows legally or otherwise so we can have them ANY time we want. Back then, we got pulled away from these once in a while because our parents made us go somewhere or sit at the table for breakfast or something, and if we missed one episode it was a gamble if it was ever on again instead of one you've seen 3 or 4 times already. Sure, there were those who had recording VCR's and managed to tape them, and some of those are the posts we're enjoying now. But remember the only way to get episodes otherwise was paying a fortune for a video tape with, if you're lucky, more than 2 episodes on it. Sure, I have good memories about this stuff, but I would have KILLED to have 24/7 access to cartoons that I could watch on a tiny little computer I could take anywhere back then.
I was watching this amazing collection of Saturday morning cartoon magic while eating a bowl of Franken Berry Cereal. It's that time of season for Monster Cereal( October 2019)....
A lot of the Saturday morning videos I see have the theme song, bumpers and end credits. I never see the full episode. Thank you very, very much. This is awesome!!!!
NBC had the most shows based on real life celebrities. Camp Candy, Punky, Gravedale High, Mr. T, Kid n Play, Wishkid, Gary Coleman show ,Muhammad Ali and Ed Grimely
Thanks you for uploading this. I like to bond with my son and every now and a then my eleven year old son humors me, we call it kid for a day where we hang out and watch shows or movies together that i watched as a kid while we color and then i play roblox with him for a bit. He got a kick out of the commercials too. I also noticed the last commercial a little trivia....the girl in the McDonald's commercial played in mac and me and in mac and me she worked at McDonalds...yes I am totally stuck in the 80's
On school days I wake my grandkids up early when I leave for work. I get them a bowl of cereal a blanket for the couch and the remote so that they can watch their cartoons with the living room to themselves until mom gets up to see them off. It's not the same but it's the closest I can figure that will give them similar warm memories when they grow up.
Aye at least your doing that much. I can admire that. Most adults forgot what those moments will do for the kids later on in life. They will remember it.
Dam what happen to the good ol days. My era and childhood was legendary im glad i got to watch and witness historic legendary cartoons growing up in the late 70s and all threw the 80s and early 90s it was a blessing

Every time I work a 13 or 14 hour day, I always play the Alvin and the chipmunks "working day and night" song in my head. Kids dont have any clue about what real toons are. Time flies when your part of a balanced breakfast.

Amazing. I was 6-7 in 86. The best generation to have grown up. It would then end with WWF wrestling around noon to 2pm.

I was born in 1974 and I have been around to enjoy many of these shows. As a adult they are sources of a lot of great memories. Thanks so much for posting this.

The rise of streaming and digital distribution is 1 factor.

Not only lit 80s ads, but full episodes too! Could it get any better?

My nephews watched these cartoons in the 1980s. Now flash forward 30 years and they served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Where did the time go?
A time when kids mattered
Oh, kids matter today too! ...As the source of cash, that is.
Back then, kids mattered as flowers of life, so there was more soul put into cartoons.
Doug Isbel and the kids programs weren’t jam packed with leftist globalist white guilt messaging/propaganda📺📹🛹
Now most cartoons seem to be made for adults.
I 💞d the show punky Brewster . im a kid at heart. I still watch cartoons, this is when they still had decent animation. I remember the Saturday morning cartoons.
This is awesome, the memories of Saturday morning.
Those where the days. Really innocent and as a kid anything was possible...I miss those times
Amazing 80's miss those days!!
I am 36 years old and I haven't seen most of the cartoons and commercials and I am glad to. Watch them here. Thanks for the upload as I'm always interested in what was aired at the time I was born.

Im 44 and I remember making a bowl of cereal and getting excited to watch Saturday morning cartoons. I watch cartoon network with my 10 year old son, they show a lot of retro cartoons, flintstones, scooby doo, Tom and Jerry, smurfs and lots of others. My Favorite. Turn the milk Blue😋
If you mix Frankenberry and Boo Berry cereal you get the same taste. You can still get them around Halloween at Wal-Mart.
Man, we had so many great cartoons when we were kids. It was probably the golden age of kids cartoons. Absolute garbage nowadays.
Punky Brewster was not a “great cartoon”.
@@ronniechoate3086 No it wasn't but it our cartoon. It's something us 80's kids can only appreciate.
whoever decided recording a chunk of Saturday morning in 1986 was a good idea is a genius!
Thanks for posting...I remember these shows well...I was in 11th grade at Satsuma High School here in Satsuma Alabama in 1986.
I really think I enjoyed the commercials even more.

Those classic Chipmunks are bettet than today’s live action version
Watching this video brings back memories. It also makes me wonder, "What the hell happened to this world?" in its present state. Everything just felt so much more wholesome and pleasant back then. I feel bad for any kids past, present, and future who missed out on growing up in the 1980's.
