I love Carl Sagans comment " We are made of star stuff". Him and Neil deGrasse Tyson are some of the people I look up to in this world and know it can be better than what it is.

I agree with you that Carl Sagan was a virtual giant among cosmologists who have popularized astronomy. People like Neil De Grasse Tyson, Brian Greene, Lisa Randall, Lawrence Krauss and even the highly esteemed Stephen Hawking, owe much of their success, at being able to reach the masses, to Carl Sagan. He was a pioneer in popularizing cosmology for the masses. I would love it if a portrait were done of him.

I think my favorite part of watching these videos (besides the obvious skill) is that moment when you realize who the person is....like for this video I can kinda tell who it is (partly cause I know ahead of time) but at 1:10 BOOOM it's Neil DeGrasse Tyson....and for even more fun try picking a video without seeing the title and guessing who it is

I look up at the night sky and I know that, yes we are part of this Universe, we are in this Universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts is that the Universe is in us. When I reflect on that fact, I look up-many people feel small, because they’re small and the Universe is big, but I feel big, because my atoms came from those stars

Just waaaaaw. How do you draw so realistivly. A lot of practice waw u must love portraiture so so much. How long does it take u to do this?
I am an inspiring writer who's job will one day hopefully be to comprise multiple sentence's when words seem to scramble. Yet now as I watch such a talented artist working to the voice of a genius in the field of Astrophysics, watching on with unwavering eyes as his eyes look up towards the night; completely absorbed in thought of being one, whole with the ocean of speckled black... I realise I have broken a cardinal rule of writing; I am speechless to the brilliance.
Xiaonan another incredible rendering of one of the most celebrated genius's of our time, I really am enjoying all these drawings on black paper, this one in particular since you include a starry night sky. Truth be told about all our atoms, elements, all being one, and obtain from the same primordial soup. Amazing as always. Keep inspiring.
Then your watching the wrong ones :) Nova, Nova Science now, The universe, The pluto files, They are also doing a reboot of Cosmos, and he wil be Carl's replacement. Plus lots of other on-stage events, with Dawkins, and Kraus, Cox, many many other, plus 10 books - How have you not seen him?
That is your opinion and you are entitled by it. Remember that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and If you were to evangelize people through a comment then you arent doing it right. I do believe that God created the world and Jesus Christ is our savior but do not tell people that their beliefs are not correct in a blunt vulgar manor. It is not His teachings to be like this :)

Dr. Neil De Grasse Tyson has always imbued the listening audience with awe and wonder, as he skillfully teaches us about the majesty of our universe. If anyone deserves to be immortalized by a portrait that also inspires awe and wonder, it is Dr. Tyson.
His work is astounding, I agree. As an artist myself, I tend to paint the background first, as well. It makes things a lot easier. You don't have to work around things as much.

The background had me confused at first, i couldn't figure out the white dots... then it hit me and my jaw dropped, this one is fantastic and I love what you did with it.

beautifully drawn and coloured photo-realistic picture, amazing seeing the stages of each layer to allow for accuracy, even more amazing that the hair doesnt seem to go to the next stage in that process but still looks realistic. Food for thought, thanks.
