Thought for a moment the stress of the big build had got to you. 😂 . Nice bit of comedy to brighten up the day.

My late father, a farmer of 40 years, obsessed with mole grips, hated adjustable spanners with a passion. This would've made him smile.

I think these used to be around years ago and we're used by engineers. Maybe they dissapeared off the scene and the patent ran out so others have started manufacturing them

I love the spanner family, you're nuts but you're great too! Hope your project's coming on well.

You have won the UA-cam best intro award with that. I actually laughed out loud then had to explain why I was watching UA-cam at work 😀 Too work.

I saw a clip on UA-cam where the advice on adjustable spanners was to use the tool so that the direction of rotation put tension onto the moveable jaw tip toward the fixed jaw. Doing it the other way forces the moveable jaw outwards...
I have a tool just like this in my plumbing kit. Just brilliant for the various sizes of fastners.

Love the fact that you started winding the jaws the wrong way! I am always doing that, and am forever thinking I should be able to master which direction I need to go in, but never do. Very reassuring.

A Stanley 10" one of these cost me £15 back in 2016 for one particular job after a recommendation. May only have been used a dozen times and saved the day on a lot of them.

What do get the man who is almost impossible to buy an original gift for?
So imagine a Christmas stocking containing the Knipex pliers wrench 86 05 250. So useful and similar to those you showed, set like an adjustable wrench work like pliers. What’s more the jaws are parallel. A bit pricey but the sort of tool I would chuck a bunch of money at. But almost the best present ever! K.

These have been around for years. Great for grabbing the nut and _not_ accidentally dropping it when it comes off the bolt. Can be used as a clamp as well to temporarily hold two plates together (for drilling, marking etc.)
