About me:
I'm Aiden and I'm documenting what was supposed to be my barn conversion, which has now ended up being a new build. I don't have a trade, I just have a go and I'll be doing lots of work myself. This is the boring bit in grand designs that you don't get to see. Subscribe and follow along to find out how our future home turns out.

This has to be your best ever intro
Thought for a moment the stress of the big build had got to you. 😂 . Nice bit of comedy to brighten up the day.
😁
My late father, a farmer of 40 years, obsessed with mole grips, hated adjustable spanners with a passion. This would've made him smile.
I think these used to be around years ago and we're used by engineers. Maybe they dissapeared off the scene and the patent ran out so others have started manufacturing them
I love the spanner family, you're nuts but you're great too! Hope your project's coming on well.
They were the doctors and nurses 😂
You have won the UA-cam best intro award with that. I actually laughed out loud then had to explain why I was watching UA-cam at work 😀 Too work.
Hope you didn't get in trouble 😬🤭
I saw a clip on UA-cam where the advice on adjustable spanners was to use the tool so that the direction of rotation put tension onto the moveable jaw tip toward the fixed jaw. Doing it the other way forces the moveable jaw outwards...
I have a tool just like this in my plumbing kit. Just brilliant for the various sizes of fastners.
Ah yeah I remember seeing that
Building a cardboard hospital, the things you do for UA-cam 😂
Remember it doubled as a cheap motel 😉😆
Looks like you had fun making that video!
I did! 😅
Love the fact that you started winding the jaws the wrong way! I am always doing that, and am forever thinking I should be able to master which direction I need to go in, but never do. Very reassuring.
I'm sure if we used these every day then we'd get it right 😄
A Stanley 10" one of these cost me £15 back in 2016 for one particular job after a recommendation. May only have been used a dozen times and saved the day on a lot of them.
You're right, not much money for being so handy, even if they're rarely used
This has been my best go-to tool for over 10 years. Brilliant kit. Grab a nut and grab other tools ( this sentence is getting out of control...CALL THE INNUENDO POLICE! ).
Excellent.🤣👍
I could use that daily at work. Thanks for the tip, gonna buy one.
Any time!
Crescent Tools produces one, so does Makita...but I got mine from Lidl!!
😆🙌
An old engineer I knew forty years ago had a pair of these, they were out of production then, he told me if I ever saw a pair, buy them.
I wonder if a patent ran out so that's why they're being produced again 🤔
What do get the man who is almost impossible to buy an original gift for?
So imagine a Christmas stocking containing the Knipex pliers wrench 86 05 250. So useful and similar to those you showed, set like an adjustable wrench work like pliers. What’s more the jaws are parallel. A bit pricey but the sort of tool I would chuck a bunch of money at. But almost the best present ever! K.
Ahaa yeah they look super handy 😎
Adjustable mole/spanner and a cat, what's not to like.
Have two of those exact tools from the hospital scene in my go kit at the moment......
Awesome 👍😎
These have been around for years. Great for grabbing the nut and _not_ accidentally dropping it when it comes off the bolt. Can be used as a clamp as well to temporarily hold two plates together (for drilling, marking etc.)
I think they weren't produced for a good few years, I'm guessing the patent ran out at some point though
That is witchcraft Aiden, love it
:0 Alrighty then. Take care & stay safe.
We wait patiently all week for 2 mins 😂
It took me a week to think of something else to film 😆
@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT 🤣. We have started re-watching from the beginning. We did laugh when you said the build will be finished in 12 months.
Keep up with the great vlogs. More Arthur needed 👍 looking forward to your 3min vlogs tonight 🤣
@@timbo742 I just set a new deadline...18 months from now 😆
Looks like a clever tool.....what will they think of next?
I think they thought of it years ago but seems they dissapeared for a while, I wonder if it was a patent thing 🤷
How many bottles of wine did you drink before you did that intro?🤣
Half...a glass...honest 😉
Well this got a bit weird… but I still laughed out loud literally! 😅
😉🤣
You could use the correct sized spanner!
Wouldn't grip it like this though
Engineer DR-55 ratchet screwdriver from Amazon. I thought this would be rubbish, but it's really good and remarkably strong.
You're right, it doesn't look like it will last 2 minutes
@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT I've used it quite a lot and subjected it to a lot of force, and it's still going strong.
Like it. Liked vid but Aiden the procrastination but bites again. Get on with the build. Having said that I've just ordered a set.
Haha well I'm sure you don't want another video of me insulating again
Looks like an interesting tool. 🤣 Can't believe you've manage to get to stroke one of the cats now, question is how long before they're sleeping the the lodge with you, and are best mates with Arthur? 🤣
Haha never, they're still really skittish
This build is never getting finished, is it? 🤣
Patience my friend 😉
TOP 5 AMAZINGLY USELESS TOOLS.(Nice presentation though)
The wrong tool for every job.
I'll be buying one, for sure.
Also functions as a serviceable hammer.
Everything is a hammer 🔨 😆
I see the cat law is being adhered to 😂 if I was to say this also should include a cheese sandwich...
😉
lmao the first 30 seconds made me think i clicked on the wrong video. 2:32 kitten
🤭
You've got too much time on ur hands m8😂
Well I've got to entertain myself sometimes 😁
Best intro ever.
Never seen a wrench like this, didn’t know it existed, don’t know why I’d ever need one but just ordered one from Amazon.
One day you'll be glad you had them 😁
Milly, Tilly or Willy?
Tillie 😁
Looking at the other brands, Makita and Stanley came up, three times the price! I wonder...three times the quality?
Maybe we'll never know... although I can imagine it turning out they make them in the same factory 😆
I recently sent you an email about your Aluminium windows. Did you receive it? I love some advice 😀
On it 👍
Too much weed and time on your hands 😁
Haha time is good to have...😉
Are you feeling OK? Would you like to talk to someone 😂
Just entertaining myself 😆
😅🤣🤣🤣
The pronouns got me! 😂
I was laughing when I thought of it 😅😆
You've too much time on yer hands mate.
It can't be all work and no play ☺️
