- While I was at the Restaurant and Bar Show in Las Vegas I tried many amazing things, but I was blown away by how good Japanese shaved ice is. I couldn't believe I never tried it before and I also had to figure out how to make it myself.

thanks for making the long videos again! 😊
thank u so much for bringing back the longer ish vids ❤❤❤❤
Its quite popular in india and it is known as 'Gola' and it is even cheap. In india 1 bowl cost around $0.5-1. and that machine cost only $50 or something..
So weird to see a non-short video from vlad
Someone asked if he'd make more and he said yep.
I'm sure we will get a mix of both.
he needs to win money
YES FINALLY! someone said that 4 minutes is not short!!!
For sure
@@Kurata_Nemui no they didn't
I love the fact that you're doing long videos again.
I think a good mix of both shorts and long videos is perfect for this channel.
Although I just watch everything you upload, whatever it is man
Good content as always
Oh wow! Thanks a lot I really appreciate it.
I’m excited for the return of VladFlix!
Enjoy 🤙
Its pretty cool to see long form videos like these
Enjoy 🤙
Shaved Ice is a staple in Hawaii. You can buy devices where you use an ice block formed in a bowl or a Cool Whip container. And even with the "impurities" it's still welcome comfort on a hot day.
I love to actually see a long video from him because I can pay better attention to it
Enjoy!
🙂
Kakigori is heavenly ~ ice fluff ~ used to have at the Temples in Japan ~ lived there many years ~ The beach cities have great Kakigori Stands on the Beach ~ Universities run them ~ Swim all day then get your Kakigori ~ Yum ~ Go back home ~{lived in house on beach} very hot summers in Japan ~ then go out again at night for more KakiGori ~ They do not use air conditioning ~ just go out in the night air & have something cool & refreshing ~ Loved this Vladie ~ Brought back Great Memories ~ Worked 6 days a week in Tokyo ~ commuted back home 5½ hours rt to beach home ~ Worth it for the Summers~ 🐚🏖️🩴🍧
So glad to see you making longer videos again! I fell in love with this channel with the longer videos because while still being compact and to the point they provide so much more love and time towards making drinks than shorts. And for me that's what making drinks was about, taking your time and put effort into creating something nice with a bit of detail to it. Thank you so much, hope to see more soon!
“Shaved ice” is all around the world. Its been for centuries. In south american countries is a very common summer dessert. In Perú we call it raspadilla. Cheap, refreshing and delicious.
In India 🇮🇳 its known as 'Ice Gola'(Ice sphere), and its usually served on a stick, like a popsicle. I've been having these since I gained consciousness. Just search "Indian street Ice Gola". Mostly the syrups used are fruit flavours, "Kala Khatta"(Kala= Black, khatta= sour, so probably Indian blackberry aka jamun, java plum or purple plum, some even contain sour grapes) being the unannomous favourite 😍. Please try the Indian way of making these, you would loveeee it😊😊😊
Its so crazy that "Kaala khata" is even a flavour in various condoms in India😂😂😂
I was looking for someone Indian telling about our delicious ice gola
And you were the first one Ꮚ^_^
Interesting
Bro 'Barf Ka Gola'
Its more like "ice dish". Barf gola may cost 5-10 rs
But "ice dish" cost 20-30 rs and eaten with spoon.
I didn't know that's a flavor as well for conds 💀💀
Finally a longer video🤩
Amazing as always Vlad🔥
Thank you! 🤙
So glad to see full length videos again!!!! Keep them coming.
I think I've watched all the long form content more times than I can count, love to see it coming back
So happy to read this!
So happy to see this is also a Japanese thing. This same contraption, same concept is super famous as a street food dessert in many parts of India. It's called Ice "gola". The syrups used are super Indian. Kala khatta, which is made from kokum (looks like tamarind), raw mango, rose, orange, pineapple.
Thank you for making these longer videos again, I missed them
finally another long video, please keep doing these!
Will do!🤙
I remember a southkorean celebrityshow with k-pop singers that got a kind of icecream from shaved ice to enjoy as popsicles.
Love to see more varied content!
Love the long video format. Believe it or not - not every person has the attention span of a kitchen towel just yet. Keep it up!
I love your longer form content like this too! Probably one of my favorite creators on the entire platform 🍻
Wow! Thanks a lot
Please make more of these longer non short videos please.
I'm on it 👌
Finally proper video love it man keep going.❤🎉
This channel is a gem
Thanks
Great vid, thank you for sharing this. I completely forgot about these, was on my bucket list when I had one at the beach and wanted to make at home.
Absolutely love the longer vids cant wait for the next
THANKS! SO PUMPED
I really like seeing some more longer form videos from you. I watch all your shorts but I often wish there were a longer video to some of them.
Regardless, you are airways entertaining.
This reminds me of a thing Me and my friends did at school... It was Winter and everywhere was snow. I had some orange juice in my bag and then we poured it over the snow and ate it. It was pretty good.
3:15 That shaved lice looked like clouds!
Amazing video Vlad!
Thank you
I remember seeing you replied to a comment on your previous video asking for long-form content again. Didnt think you’d deliver, given it only had a few likes, but im glad to see you did! Great to see a return to your roots again! after all, the long-form content is what i subscribed for in the first place.
THANK YOU! I really miss long videos
i love the long videos! Keep up the great work Vlad!
Thank you! Will do 🫡
I love Japanese Shaved Ice, way better than snow cones! I had a ton of it when I went to Hawaii.
Thank you for returning to longer videos I really liked it!
My pleasure!
Vlad this video was amazing man! Been following you for 2 years now and your amazing man!
THANK YOU!!!
I like these new longer videos
Enjoy
Amazing how something so simple but when done right it’s amazing
great video rly like the 5ish minute long content
That was super duper cool😊
THANKS!
When i lived with an exchange students family in tokyo they took me out to eat and people there bought me shaved ice..it was huge and idk what the flavor was but it was spicy which blew my mind lol it was really hot and cold at the same time but i ate it all cuz i didnt wanna be rude
In Malaysia we call it ABC...
Very similar but more syrup and toppings...
Good video big bro 👍👍
Big thanks
Holy crumbs, an actual non short video. I am in heaven.
Видео замечательное, интересное! ❤
Can you do this with smaller, non-clarified ice cubes too? (Using a knife)
Really big show❤
I’ve owned a shave ice business for 12 years now. The swan does produce the softest ice possible i eat that stuff plain all the time but mango is definitely my best seller
finally, a real long video
Enjoy!
@@VladSlickBartender thank☺
LETS GOOOOOOO LONG VIDS
🤘🤘
add 3:50, you said "it will work like a coolant blizzard in the summer time" twice xD
is that a joke from you not being able to stop yourself from eating it and that was already the second serving XD ?`
any way good video
Nice video
Are the blades not movable on the manual hand crank machine? I have a different model, but after loosening the screw, the blade can be shifted up or down to adjust the shaving thickness. I also recommend freezing the water in a round quart container. It can be split in half and then the shaving will be much more satisfying than the cubes.
I prefer long videos❤❤❤
Enjoy!
I think that you can add small fruit pieces and make it better!
I hope the next Vladflix is about once-upon-a-time-in-hollywood cocktails 🍸
Let's make it happen!
VLAD!!!! Great video!!! You went "strictly for work". OK then!!! Glad to see ya!!! CHEERS!!!!
STRICTLY FOR WORK!!!
Rip to the babish tip!
On a more serious note, if you want to fix that I'd suggest grinding the flat part of the k tip blade until the flat spot meets the edge to form a tip again. Either that or you can sharpen it out slowly but this will change the blade profile slightly and imo isn't worth doing. Best of luck!
Thank you!
I prob will just order a new one soon
@@VladSlickBartender ah I see- bit of a shame since it's an easy fix but you do you I suppose.
In Indo there's almost the same thing using the soft ice called es campur but in Indo it has more topping rather than just milk
It's pretty common in India.. it's known as "ice gola" you get it anywhere from ₹25-₹200 on the streets...
BTW, happy to see you in a longer video... Please come back with something very soon....
Your voice is kind of a stress buster... 😅😅😅
Hey could you make a refreshing nonalcoholic drink that uses the cucumber lime Gatorade
Brother you may visit India🇮🇳 for that ice machine because we have our own special desert “gola” which is probably made by this smooth ice for which we have manual but simple machines ❤Love From India❤
On my list!
Welcome back
Happy to be back!
Fun video
Pls countiue making long vids
Im happy you like the longer version 🤙
Korean one is bingsu. I never really liked shaved ice because once you eat the top part the rest is just plain ice. Condensed milk makes it so its watery but milky and the end
A wish I could go yo Japan with you my man.
I will do my BEST to make you feel like you went there with me!
@@VladSlickBartender my man.
Hard to replicate due the the “homemade” nature of the syrups, but you did a fucking great job with this one
I have to say... "raspado" or "granizado" in almost every country on latin america 😂, I missed your long videos 😁
I have memories of me when I was a kid, and me and my friends would go to the ice shop, since summers in Japan are SUPER HOT….good memories eating all kinds of shaved ice
please make video while you visited japan
You have no idea how much I'm looking forward to it 🇯🇵 ❤️
try indian gola! especially kala khatta
Your work requires you to drink during office hours.. so damn envious
The fact that you can write this off as a business expense means you won at life
😂😂
I want to eat it too 😋
Gola Kha le Bhai
Wohi hai
Was it a coincidence that when he said biggest this lady popped up at 0:08?😂
Pure coincidence!
"Best thing that came from Japan since Pokemon"
We stan a Pokemon fan.
Big video 😍
finaly, long form content
Enjoy!
A Vlad video in a 16:4 aspect ratio doesn't exist
Vlad video in a 16:4 aspect ratio:
Will it work like a cooling blizzard in the summer time though?
I tried. Yes
Hold the katana with the blade side up or also while keeping it
Or you will make the edge dull
I'm from Colombia and used to eat that stuff as a kid, it's called "raspado" here but it's made the same way you described in the video
Will it work like a cooling blizzard during summer time?
You got me, Vlad
I tried. It's a fact
The same dish is famous is western India called "Gola/ Gola Dish"
They just took raspados and made them fancier
A thing i like about your old long form videos is that you just talk to the camera. It makes your personality come through better and i think that maybe there should be a difference to the shorts.
Will it work like a cooling blizzard in the summertime?
100%
Come to Rajkot, Gujarat, India. We are eating this thing for more than 20 years called GOLA full of chocolate and colourful syrups and more chocolates and dryfruits.
On my list!
Here in Brazil we call that "Raspadinha", it's pretty comum in beaches when is very hot
Thing: 😐
Thing from Japan: 😲👍
What makes oat milk better than using animal milk. Just an honest question, I see you’re using it whenever you need ‘milk’. In milkshakes as wel.
Ais batu campur?
Can someone tell me the size of 0:08. I think something wrong there
The Turkish name for this desert is “kar şerbeti” I didn’t know thats a thing in Japan.
Nothing compares to ululani shaved ice
“Best thing that came from Japan since pokemon” Sushi?
God bless
In Brazil: raspadinha
かき氷🍧
10 shave ice 10, nice I had 5 with matcha syrup and condensed milk
Your long video missed me
Yes 👏
