It also provides a good reason to watch rubbings of slower,less fantastical drama type movies rather than typical blockbuster fare especially if you have an expectation to eventually hold a deep and meaningful conversation w/someone

I think it's mostly because of my OCD and anxiety because I'm afraid I'll never know what the word he's saying is.
I listen to Russian music on a daily basis, I love Russian music, and I'm so excited when I hear a word in the lyrics that I know, one of my favorite Russian singers is Игор Крид, I love his song Миллион. I also love Russian movies, I watch them all the time, listening to Russian music and watching Russian movies I've found, has a benefit too, it helps me understand spoken Russian, so I guess it's good I love listening to Russian music and watching Russian movies. I hope other people learning Russian reads my post, because listening to Russian music and watching Russian movies will and can help you understand spoken Russian, but it helps to listen to music you like and watch movies you're interested in because if you're interested it makes it easier to listen to, and watch, and therefore, easier to learn. For example, if you like rap, there are a lot of Russian rappers, and so on, if you're into romance, well, there are a lot of Russian romance movies out there too. A great place to find them are right here on UA-cam! On a side note, I've also found that, when learning another language, it also helps you understand your own language better. Does that make sense to anyone other than me?
