Grandmother Orangutan Adopts Her Daughters Baby

- Amazing Grandmother Jazz with Dudley Zoo baby Orangutans Jim and Joe. The two youngsters are simply adorable and are both full of fun, we got some wonderful footage of them on our visit.
Sprout, the daughter of Jazz and mum of Joe can be seen playing with the babies however she seems to play more with Jim; her brother. This is good practice for her and will help her to be ready for the next time she has a baby.
Mother Orangutan Jazz gave birth to her son Jim and some time later her Daughter Sprout give birth to a son named Joe at Dudley Zoo. Unfortunately First time mother Sprout wasn't quite ready to raise her baby. Jim is slightly larger and has lighter fur than his nephew Joe
Amazingly Jazz took over the responsibility in true hero grandmother style and is now caring for and feeding both babies.
Watching this family is truly awe inspiring and younger mother Sprout is starting to interact more with the babies now and we will upload a video of this soon. We are sure that this experience will enable her to be ready for motherhood next time around

When I see an orangutan, I feel relieved. Her behavior comes from the heart and does not carry any hatred
Wow❣️Was that Jim brachiating across the enclosure? His climbing skills are really strong. 😍👏 It’s so good to see Sprout interacting with the babies - she seems more comfortable in the role of big sister than mother, but it’s all excellent experience for her and both boys are doing so well under Jazz’s excellent care❣️ They’re such a gorgeous family. ❤❤ Thanks for another excellent video. 🙏😃

Ha, ha! Sprout, at the end of the video. Even as a youngster she had an 'enthusiasm' for using the 'wood-wool' as a wig.
Yeah she really made us laugh, I really hope that this interaction with
the youngsters will help her to be ready to bring up a baby someday.

This is my favourite orangutan family among the various zoos’ captives. They seem content and it's great how the big male gets along with Jazz Sprout and the kids. Lovely to see Sprout cuddling the babies. Mom Jazz is a wonderful example for her to follow.
Jim and Joe are wonderful, and Jazz is probably the best orangutan mom, but I can't imagine her with two kids out in the wild, high in the trees, looking for food, it wouldn't be so great (I know only one child is her son).
Orangutans in the wild can have twins and I also wonder how they cope.
@@2btpatch Raising twins would certainly be very difficult, maybe only one will survive?
