Been using my LXR in a similar way, and then u get six faders with there own rhythmic/melodic content. But the sound is not as gnarly as that db01, those r glorious
Agreed, the sequencer is half the power. I'm always amazed when I hear of people who use external sequencers - which means no accents, pitch envelopes, slides, modulated steps etc
Few month ago i had the idea to substitude dfam with db-01, but.. unfortunately found out that db is not punchy at all, it hasn't that liquidy punchy elasticity filter and envelopes suitable for a good perc sounds like rolands or mfb. Even dfam in my opinion has not very good for perc classic moog filter, which is almost unusable after 30% resonance.
Every machine has its own flavor and every musician their own taste. A DB-01 is never going to sound exactly like anything else. But with some pitchmod, envelope control, short gates etc I think it can hit pretty hard. OTOH I agree it's not in the "liquid" or "elastic" realm, the Polivoks filter lives in a much darker, grittier realm.
Remember to plug the cable in for filter tracking, makes a huge difference imo. The input drive on the Zen delay is also helping to add some low-end growl, but most mild overdrives will give that.
😅That was great fun. I was playing my Bb Harmonica to your piece titled "Bandpassed" and it ended up being a great Groove to practice to! Now that you've created quite a few examples of Drum-Kits out of the Bassline DB-01 you can use them as drum samples or ....not ~💡🎵🥁🤙🏽🎛🔥🪴💥🤖❗️
Amazing ... your re music is such a great a inspiration !!! blessings Loran
Thanks Loran. I subscribed to you and await "Errances nocturnes au bord de la rivière"
Glorious, always wondered what the sound design was behind your DFAM like sound after your LFO video ! Superb ! Thank you so much for sharing.
A pleasure :) It's a deep little machine full of rewards.
I like the aesthetics in all your video's. 👍🏻
Thanks, that makes me feel better about my fear of overly colorful pedals.
Great work. I gave this a try. It was glorious. Love it. 🔥
Excellent ! :D

Very cool and instructive video as usual! 😃👍 (I'm a big fan of the DB-01's powerful and creative sequencer 🤩)

@@RichardDeHove Yeah totally agree with this! I was a bit surprised talking to some DB-01 owners who never use its sequencer 😳
Brilliant!!!

Wow I am far to obtain so powerful and interesting results with mine 😁

A harmonica layer - now that would be good to hear ! I did think this would be good material to cut up for loops....
@@RichardDeHove When I am ready I will definitely be posting my Harmonica playing to Electronic Beats. Still working on it ~💥
