sorry, I wasn’t clear. I’m wondering if you’ve ever used TruOil on a neck and if so, what are the differences in finish between the 2 methods?

Chris, I'm guessing you used TruOil. How would you compare that to your tung oil finish?

No, I didn’t use Tru Oil. I used polymerized tung oil.

Great video as always, Chris. QQ: In this video, you're finishing a neck with a maple fingerboard. Would you do the same process for a neck with an ebony or rosewood fingerboard, i.e. would you apply the oil to the fingerboard itself? If not, what would you do differently?

Hello! 😊 Did you compare the result between their Tung Oil and their "green" without VOC version?

If you have an unfinished neck with frets already installed, how would approach the application? Would it build up on the nickel or would it have no effect as metal is nonporous.

You can wipe the oil off before it dries or you can scrape it off after it dries. Scraping is how lacquer is removed from frets.

I wonder if pure turpentine might be a better alternative to thin the tung oil than mineral spirit (mineral turpentine). Pure turpentine being a natural product may be better mix with tung oil, also a natural product rather than mineral spirit which is a petroleum product. Just my thoughts - it probably doesn't make much difference.

That I don't know. I can't use turpentine myself as it triggers an instant migraine. I have to use odorless mineral spirits which work just fine.
