RIP Ian Lavender/Pikey. Sadly missed. "I'll tell Mum!" I'm American and found the show on Britbox about four years ago. It's one of my favorite comedies, and its brilliance and genius transcends time and cultures.
Thank you for sharing. I love Dad's Army. Do you have anymore, clips, interviews, shorts, etc., about Dad's Army? Or any other David Croft and Jimmy Perry shows? Thank you.
Arthur Lowe was a comedic genius, it's a travesty he never won a BAFTA. No one else could possibly have played him, same with all the others of course.
Really fun documentary, wish out countries TV showed them and we've not had Dad's Army reruns for years. Sad side note: Arthur Lowe missed lines on that awards show clip due to sickness, it was his last appearance. His real life wife also played the role of Dolly Godfrey in 5 episodes of Dad's Army.
Brought up on this and was so keen to get the full set of tapes I searched looking for a fan club and found the only one at the time in Cambridge. New Zealand's Cambridge 12,000 miles away. and just as surprising was to learn the Clive was the youngest actor, shows what make up can do, Also explains how he was able to do the stuff he did.
Pikey with his scarf and Tommy Gun and his Mum......Brilliant!!!
'Quiet in the ranks mum'
In hindsight, what a superb performance by Ian Lavander!
Uncle Sergeant the honourable Arthur!

Maybe the best TV series EVER MADE
Love ❤️ the boys ❤❤
How fun. Thank you for uploading.
Read this in Godfrey's voice
Brilliant. Chuffed to bits to see so many 'new' shots and interviews. You'd think we've seen it all by now...

Dads Army is an interesting marker of a social system that celebrated decent Family ,Community and Cultural expression .....which is now ?

I thought Ian Lavender was the youngest in the cast
Godfrey was everyone's favourite grandad and Mainwaring was so hard on him. Don't be insolent Godfrey😂😂😂😂😂
Has entered my brother's dreams lolz
Inmortal and eternal comedy. Especially at the background of the present situation in Britain: equally ridiculous but certainly not a comedy.
Did i blink ? No look at the Vicar and the Verger ??
"We must use gormless celebrities to say things like "It's funeeee", otherwise the people watching won't understand that it's funny."
Well said , awful ramblings, Al murray??! Jeez
👍
Well done, but yet another presentation ruined by the added music.
