- On April 25th, a video surfaced on X, claiming to be a teacher from Shaanxi province addressing Xi Jinping. He expressed his inability to afford an apartment over the years and hoped to borrow money from Xi Jinping. The language in the video is full of mockery towards the government. He even specifically wrote an article hoping Xi Jinping would take a look. And he aspired to become China's famous ancient admonisher Wei Zheng in the Tang dynasty. But this video was quickly suppressed. People left comments praising his courage, believing that this video is basically a voluntary surrender, with a determination for 'speaking truth to power'! Some people think this man is too foolish, saying how could General Secretary Xi possibly see this video.

They call it suppression, but in reality they are silencing him permanently.
I suspect the same thing happened to Naomi Wu 2 years ago when she no longer appeared on the internet. She did criticize the Mainland Chinese Government for several of their domestic policies. She was also known as Sexy Cyborg.

Probably Xi Jingping: You must have at least three babies to boost the shrinking national population, and spend more money to boost the deflating domestic economy. Now, go eat bitterness while I eat my honey.

A real revolt will start when the CCP goes after all the people's cash savings in the banks ! that's next, invent a national emergency then require all banks to turn over a large portion of every netizens savings to the government , and at the same time a FOOD PANIC because so many grocery stores will have closed in all the big cities that everyone in those big cities will not be able to find enough grocery stores open to buy food from,

when the person in power is a fat tub and waddles around while every everyone else is starving and their weight is 90 lbs and hes working on 300 u know there's a problem
CCP guarantees are working in the rice fields 🇨🇳
Or 50 millions death. Remember Mao Zedong
No! There is absolutely no guarantee of that.
With recent "100-year floods" and droughts becoming annual in recent years the effective rice output has most likely reduced. CCP was not helping matters by enforcing regulations and fining farmers as much as they could forcing some to reduce or abandon their trade out of desperation. Some were bankrupted due to being forbidden to farm in the pandemic despite that farming in open field has near-zero chance of contracting any air-borne infection.
CCP then attempted to forcibly increase rice plantation size but in many instances the locals complied only on paper and shoddily constructed rice fields were unable to produce any reasonable harvest. It's hard to say if the initiative had any effect at all, let alone offsetting the loss of rice production due to other issues.
The real problem is now thousands of people who lost their jobs in cities are returning to rural areas where there are no jobs for them. Some pushed locals out of their jobs, some tried to undercut prices. Some tried to establish new farming grounds including rice fields but many failed having no prior experience in doing so. One way or the other - they are the reason for recent spike in poverty and extreme poverty in rural areas.
Some people from cities are hanging by the thread now hoping that recovery will come as government promises every day. It won't. If everyone's backup idea is to do farming - they will be met with harsh reality of that not being realistically possible.
Well they can become conscripts or voluntary join the Pla. They might get fed.
@@mah7961 That is possible - though Chinese military personnel don't earn much - or even enough to sustain a family - the CCP would probably not allow them to starve because starving military may rebel.
However, there is an increasing chance of the war happening, and if it does the people who volunteered will be the first ones to be used as meatshields - and we know they will - there is absolutely no way attacking a fortified island to not incur very heavy losses even if the military is competent and well-equipped which it's not. And chickening out at the last moment is not an option - military tribunal will likely execute deserters.
So military is a gamble as well

Hard to feel bad for people, who take loan with payment equal to 75% of income and assume they never get sick, lose job or whatever. And their income goes only up and up.
Never becoming sick is a asian general belief. Even locally 日本. It's part of work ethic.
The people always know the truth - they live it.
That's unfortunately not so.
A lot of Chinese think that what situation they are in is temporary and limited to them and possibly their immediate contact circle. They think that China is great and strong, only their corner of it is struggling.
The sad truth is that Chinese propaganda and censorship are in fact effective.

Also why are they not living in the ghost towns?
No jobs available or absurd transportation costs to go to work if they live in ghost towns. Chinese companies have no tolerance for lateness.
Probably no utilities or waste management set up.
No zoning, no registration, no roads, no utilities are connected. It's basically unfinished property without doors/locks, no elevators, exposed to weather, etc.
They built highrise apartments before they had roads, electrical substations, gas, water/sewage, internet or any industrial / shops in the area that could be used to piggyback utilities from. You could hook up solar or generators... but not for hundreds of apartments.
Quite a lot of these instant villages are set up by the same company, so the apartments form a 'community' of 20k to 50k residents in one estate. But, these kinds of projects take years for a reason, i.e. that much density requires a lot of utility planning to get pipes, roads, internet cabling, etc. which costs millions. There's also no way to get the utility company to connect without permits or zoning.
In some cases, there is conduit & access rooms ready to be connected when gas/electricity is available ... but in some cases, they never wired it up at all, so it has to be added later on, involving ripping out walls and tearing up path/roads. Now, they could build generators or something if the owners pooled money and so on, but that would also require the local government to hand over Residential Hukou to people who want to live in the property.
It would be like camping or squatting in your own property.
Same reasons as everywhere else, SOMEBODY owns the ghost town. And honestly, are the streets worse than an empty crumbling shell?
Most of those buildings are unfinished shells.
Miracle on earth more like toilet of the earth all the shite swirls circles then goes down....
Thanks great reporting,
Stop begging. Rise up!

When ot come to investments, you never invest what you are willing to lose. The problem with China is you are very limited in how you can invest your money. For example we have thing like CD's and other account where you can get higher interest rate with a huge risk. The other problem in China is the banks are just stealing people money because they are so corrupt and the cops do nothing.
Banks are forced to loan money to CCP for megaprojects that on paper are designated to return profit but in practice everyone understands most of them will at best struggle to pay any interest let alone ever repay the load. This money comes from people's savings because now there is nowhere else it can come from.
The money that people put in the banks is no longer actually there, if they try to withdraw the money would have to come from what other people recently deposited - if there is enough. Meaning, if a bank run occurs people will lose their money.
well, some have unrealistic expectations on consumerism... also here in the first world, there are well-earning academics who cook at home, don't go out much, don't spend senselessly...
"oh - how peculiar, i havent bought clothes for 1 or 2 days now" - sounds silly to me, and i guess the problem lies there within
The reality is, if you’re gonna buy property anywhere in the world, you should buy only what you can actually afford and pay for outright. You should not be getting a mortgage mortgage is the same as having a credit card in a negative way so you should always pay upfront info so that you can own it out right that way. If you ever had to rent it out yourself, you would be the one getting money instead of paying the bank.
I guess that's what you get when Winny the Pooh controls your economy.
I'm an American adult and I buy clothes like once every 3 years. And every year my mom will get me some kind of outerwear thing like a jacket. But that's it and I'm fine so why are people buying clothes like literally every season that's wild.
They are poor, oddly enough.
Time for an history lesson???
Chapter 1: The pitfalls of Communism
You spelled autocracy wrong.
There is almost zero communism in China.
Communism is shared ownership of land and tools of the trade and giving everyone equal opportunity despite what they can deliver. China has none of it.
It's a dictatorship based on market economy that CCP periodically bombs with senseless regulations.
@@Qwairy Humans won't do communism any other way because the state cannot provide enough incentive for labor without money or threats.

There is absolutely no portraying Xi's family..
I live in Perth Western Austrailia in the early 2000s The gas company was privatized and slowly but surely it kept creeping up in price one da y five years agon my then gas company offed 30 percent discount to new customers. My family was with my gas company since the 1960s. I was just given $20 off my next bill. I said thanks for nothing please cut my gas of.
3 years after I cut my gas off. I got a sobbing letter from my former gas company about the gas miter they hired from another company begging for me to reconnect my Gas . Last time I came to hear from Alinta gas they said they send out the dept dogs if I did not pay the last bill of $20. I paid it after reading the letter I tossed it in the bin. I treated them the same way. The crooks are not in China alone.

The people's agitation. They are worthy of a formal address indeed with substantive redress in tow - shifts in the CCP's public policy are imminent, and it has to be for the better!!!

How ridiculous that they sit there with that gas meter letting themselves be taxed like that. Considering China is full of crafty people, it would not be hard for her to go outside and find a neighbor that knows how to install gas pipelines, and have them install a secondary pipe on the backside of that that avoids the gas meter altogether, allowing them to get free gas use when they want. They could still be honest and pay a little bit but then when they feel that they paid enough for the month, they could turn off the meter and continue to use the gas meter free

Ask ICC to step in.
just because you want something doesnt mean youre poor. but having too many kids and not providing for them is bad, it was a choice to bring people to this planet and having them suffer. thats still not poor.
Does Ping use a security team? Like other Presidents use?
I wonder why we see him walking around people without guards ?
Because literally ALL of that is staged, and the people in the shots are either actors or selected from a pool of trusted people and searched thoroughly.
Yes, all of the videos with Xi, every single one of them, is staged. They close up and cordon the entire area many hours in advance, search it with dogs, metal detectors and stuff, sometimes set up metal barriers around it, and of course there are hundreds, sometime thousands of security personnel guarding it all with automatic weapons and all. They then unload a bus full of trusted actors and search them too.
This can easily halt the life of a large portion of the city, or entire village, for a good part of the day.
They also are not above resorting to just fakery. I.e. green screen or filming in the middle of nowhere decorating it as if it's a village or whatever it is supposed to be.
This is not a conspiracy theory, this is what actually happens every single time. Look at reflections and shadows and you will see that there is typically no-one outside of the shot. Some panned out videos were leaked but they are rare since entire CCP goes hail-Mary berserk on the one who releases such a video.
Not very communist of them
Official theft.
Ownership: In China, you cannot technically own the land; you lease it for 70 years from the government. After this period, the lease may be renewed. In the USA, you own the land and property outright.
"lease" and "own" are indeed contradictory terms when it comes to property. Owning a property typically implies having full and perpetual rights to it, including the land it's built on (in countries where this is the case).
The problem is less that and more of the land can be confiscated with little fanfare.
If CCP wants to build a road on your property they will with little to no compensation to your property which is now split in half with a low-quality road.
This has some advantages such that they can unroll infrastructure without decade-long lawsuits and unreasonable demands from previous owners at which point new infrastructure is just not built. But drawbacks are also quite obvious and damning.
@@jwhite5008 Agreed, I was just clarifying when the content provider uses the term "Mortgage" or "Buy" simply does not mean the same thing as it does to the free western countries.
You either don’t own land or are indoctrinated into thinking that because you pay your taxes you own your property. No actually you don’t own your property. If you fail to pay the lifelong property taxes then you will have your property confiscated. That is not ownership.
Well said sir, actually they own nothing.
If Xi Jingping was touched by God and became an honorable man, i wonder if he could change the whole country himself.

This is why expectations that China, or Russia, will become a "liberal democracy" when their current dictator falls are false. The people neither have understanding nor experience of democracy. They are both basically peasant societies. Recall what happened after the Qing dynasty, or the Romanovs, fell. In China you had Sun Yat-sen who was a socialist. For him elections were secondary to seizing power. He didn't live long enough for us to find out. China was ruled by warlords. In Russia you had the "dictatorship of the proletariat".
too bad he didn't just watch US Democrats to figure out how this would go. Like yeah you can say that poverty was eliminated under your tenure even if it was just market forces, conditions under which a literal parakeet could have run the country and eliminated poverty. The problem that he has is that there's not another party so you can't simply pass the baton to the other party and then when the bubbles start to burst, cuz that's kind of how the market goes, blame the increase in suffering on them, even though the entire time it's just been the economy running along its natural cycle with or without your input.
