Great informative video. I agree with all this. My last truck was a 18’ f150 and I had a 3” lift kit, 35”x12.5”x20” mud terrain Nitto tires on a wheel that had -44 offset and I had to rotate front crash bar and trim around inside wheel well but it STILL rubbed when turning really sharply or when the truck was on a slope with mild turns. I now have a 23’ f150 and I’m wanting that same look just now as offroadish so this video helped me decide my options. I think I’ll do a basic 2.5” level and keep the stock wheels(they look better than the 18’ wheels looked) then upgrade tires to a premium branded 35”x12.5”x18” all terrain tire.
I just watched 20 different videos on this F-150 35s the headache of my and honestly it's very frustrating because everyone tells you its fits but every body has to act exmark and miss the most important or have diss on a 3inch level... @@youngmigo9953 you can get the replacements but I have no issues with my 3 inch level spacer. The replacements are good but if u ever want to lift the truck it could cause issues since a lot of lifts rely on the factory control arms
Useful. Thanks. It's funny. A year ago before I started learning about all this, I wouldn't have understood much about what you said. Now I do. A question at the end. I'd love a Raptor, but my tentative plan is a new F150 Platinum,5.5' bed, loaded, with the Diamondback HD bed cover on the back. I want to level it, had been thinking less level rather than more, say 2" instead of 2 1/2" or even less if possible, but I can go a little higher if needed, and I do want a negative offset, just a little poke, but if a bit more poke, no more than 1", then I would like to add body colored fender flares to align, in effect a little raptorizing of the Platinum appearance. I would like to increase the tire size that comes with it, 33's, 34's, even 35's but that size seems unlikely without serious cutting. I would most likely want an All Terrain tire with the severe winter rating three peak designation since I live in mountainy ski country, though I do drive from sea level to high altitudes, from desert heat to the big winter snow storms, and I would most likely get real snow tires to swap to for winter time. I do more road driving than off, but some of both, but the offroad is more destination oriented rather than the crazy off roading fun of my youth. I currently have Falken Wildpeak AT3W's on my old Jeep and I love them, but the tires I get on the new Platinum could be another potentially. I do like the idea of a bit wider offset, towards that 1" range, and adding the fender flares as long as I could get them without those cosmetic bolts you see, but I definitely would want at least a little offset. In any case, and assuming you even see this, getting the new F150 Platinum later in 2024 most likely, what would you recommend for the height of the level (incl. any extra rear lift if needed), and amount of the offset, and max size of tire, hopefully avoiding any risk at all of rubbing or such?
I know I’m a little late on this video. But, I have a 2017 F-150 and just installed a RC 2” leveling kit. Looking to get Fuel Rebel 20x9rims with +20 offset. Would love to be able to run 295/65/20 tires, but debating between those and 295/60/20 because I don’t want any rubbing. Wanting to go with the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Do you think I could run the 295/65/20 without there being any rubbing or needing to trim? Or should I just stick with the 295/60/20? Just don’t want to regret not getting the bigger size. Thanks!
@ProfessorMikee Hi. First, thanks for the information you shared here. I have a 2017 f150 RWD. Stock suspension, wheel (+44 offset) and no lift. Stock tire is 275/55/20. I would like to install a bigger tire.... Nothing fancy! I was thinking in 33's , maybe 34's , no bigger than that. For example, 275/60/20, 33x11.5 or 33x12.5. My main concern is to rub with the UC. Right now the space between sidewall of the tire and UC is about an inch. Not sure if I will need to also install a set of spacers. Thanks
So I’m running a 2inch leveling kit on a 2021 f150 4x4 larger and want to get 285 65 20 do you think that’s to big?? I’m getting a lot of it works and it doesn’t but I love the look with this size tire. What do you think? Thanks for the info!!
I have a 2016 f150 lariat and am going with the 2.5” level with the bilstein 6112 with new UCAs. What are your thoughts on fitting 34” tires and with what wheel offset would be best to reduce chance of rubbing?
on a 2.5 inch level, using stock wheels which are +44 offset i would not go any larger than 35/11.5 or 34/11.5 its not the tires height that wont fit, its the width, since your offset is so positive, the tire cant be that wide or it will rub on your upper control arm, going with 11.5 will be the max width I would go, which is equivalent to 295/65 or 295/60. if you go with after market wheels with more of a negative offset, 34 inch tires would be as much as i would go to have no clearance issues. I also would not go any wider than a 10 wide and no offset more than -18. hope this helps :)
Thank you Mike! Great advise, I’ll definitely take all this into consideration when deciding on wheel and tire set up. Thanks for answering my questions/concerns, I appreciate it greatly.
I have a 2017 f150 xlt and I want 35/11.5r17. I have 7.5” wide wheels will that 11.5” tire be able to mount on the 7.5” wheel? And will it hit the control arm?

@@ProfessorMikee how much clearance is needed to preserve off-road performance? I’m torn between a 35x11.5 but I’d go down to 34” if I’d be rubbing out in the wild (given a 2.5 level on a 2021- style wheel well, stock 44 offset )

Nothing wider than 11.5 on stock wheels, and 12.5 on after market -offset. For length, stock wheels 35s will fit, for after market 34s if your offset is no more than 0, anything more negative then 0 like -12 -18 the 33s would work. Hope this helps!

20x9 +20 offset 295/65/20 would be very very close , and might rub, 295/60/20 I would do, if your going -18 your going to want to go with a 33inch, personally I think you should do 295/60/20 20x9 +20 or +1 and you’ll be money setup 💰
I’m new to buying wheels. I drive 2018 4x4 sport. I want to buy aftermarket rims and put a level kit in the front. I’m looking for a rim set up for 18’s or 17’s. Is there some dimensions you guys would recommend? Going for a small rim big tire look.
Could I fit a 305/60R20 (factory rim) without rubbing/trimming? I think these are 12" wide. You talk a lot about 11.5" and 12.5", but no mention of 12". Thanks, great video.
Could I fit a 295/60/20 or 275/65/20 ridge graps on a 2017 F150 with a 2” spacer lift if I add 20x9 Fuel Mavericks with a +14 or +20 offset? Which do you think would be better? Right now I’m just running stock 20s with 275/60/20s and they just don’t have the height to fill out the wheel wells like I’d like.
+20 offset should be fine for a 34 inch tire! Great set up, may or may not rub slightly at fill crank but that’s about it. Different tires have run bigger or smaller even though they are the same size
@@ProfessorMikee thanks for the info , and responding , I’ll look into it more before I make a final decision.. going to run all terrain tires so that may help , not going over 12 wide rim as well .. thanks again 👍🏽

@@ProfessorMikee thanks for the info , and responding , I’ll look into it more before I make a final decision.. going to run all terrain tires so that may help , not going over 12 wide rim as well .. thanks again 👍🏽
Hi.... i have 275/55r20 and rims are 20 x 10 with offset -18 would they fit on a ford with 2.5 level kit?
-18 might be a little to wide for the level, it might hit the crash bar in full lock granted the tires are smaller it will be very close
@@ProfessorMikee thanks I appreciate the reply
Hey I am seeing some comments and am curious as to what I should do. So I have a 2014 f150 with new tires but I didn’t realize before I got them that they would rub my uca. I now have 35x12.5x20lt (Toyo at3), on a 2.5” leveling kit, should I get a .25” spacer? Or honestly see about swapping my 3 week new tires for their 11.5” width versions? It is only rubbing at max turn, and just very close to the UCA when straight. I appreciate the time and videos, giving you a sub for sure!
.25 spacer could actually give you the clearance you need for that uca and stop the rubbing
I would try that before getting a new set of tires
Hey so they don’t stop the rub with my UCA so I am debating getting 1.5” or 2” spacers. Should I go with one or the other in your opinion?
What about 285/75R18s +34 Offset on the 2020 F-150 ?
35s on a 17x9 w/ 0mm offset - 2.5 inch level?
Will rub a bit
@@ProfessorMikee Will it require plastic cutting or frame and metal cutting, I have a 2014 limited, the front splitter does not really come close to the tire the mud flaps come closer, I am more concerned about metal and or frame cutting which would probably make me want to go with a 34 or 33
I have 35 inch tires with -19 offset wheels.
What will I need done?
Need to go at least 4 inch lift to fit
I purchased 35 x 12.5 r20 k02 all terrain for stock wheels put wheel spacer 2” and a 2” leveling but a lot of rubbing. Would like not to trim but I can’t return the tires! Suggestions?
Trim
Want to run a 35 running 2” level kit. Looking at 20x10 -18 offset. Will this work or will I have to cut? Thanks for all the information!
Will not fit, you will have to do major cutting to fit that
I have a 2in leveling kit. Can I go for a 295/65/r20?
On stock wheels yes 👍🏽
What size spacer do you think would work without chopping studs would a 1” work or would you have to do a 1.5”
Wheel spacer, or spacer on top of your strut?
Can you run a stock 22 which comes stock on my 13 limited?
Yes
Yes you can, cut some plastic and done. Edited to say get aftermarket wheels with Negative spacing
Them alpha Rex give problems? Heard they flicker real bad?
Been 3 years no problems so far
@@ProfessorMikee I just seen your b pillars were gloss black I’ve been trying to find some that doesn’t have the keypad did you make yours or buy them?
Bro I got leveled AT BF KO2 35/12.5r20 with 20X9, what spacers should be on it?
You’re going to rub with spacers
@@ProfessorMikee it still rubs right now
I’m looking to do 35x12.5x18 on 18x9 +1. I’m open to trimming plastic and cutting front crash bars, will this work with those mods?
35s will rub with +1 offset if you don’t cut anything, if go with 34s and you’ll be ok
What is you got a 3.5 level kit
I'm late to this conversation but would 285 75 18 on factory rims and 2" level work on F150 FX4 without any issues? This tire size is what comes on the Super Duty Tremor
You will be fine my buddy has 33s on a 2 inch level and he only touched the the textured plastic on the bottom of the bumper
If you use a 35 12.5 20 on a 2.5 moto lab level with rear blocks -24 will that rub?
Yes it will rub up front
@@ProfessorMikee what if 33s 12.5 20 on 2.5 level?
@@codylarch1184 will fit the crash bar but then will rub on UCA
@@ProfessorMikee ah a what uca should i need to have work?
@@codylarch1184 you just need to go more narrow on the tires or go more negative on the offset to clear
What about -44mm offset wheels?
Definitely not, they will rub badly
can i fit it with a level but stock 18 inch wheels?
yes 35/11.5/18 would be max on a 2.5 inch level
Hey boss thinking about switching up to 35/12.5r20 with a new 2.5 level on my 20x10 -12 rims do you think they will clear?
Hey! -12 is not going to clear it’s going to rub on the front crash bars, I would go with a smaller tire, or your going to have to do some major trimming
What about an R/T 35x12.50x20?
Will rub on a standard level
what about 35x12.5 on 18s with a leveling kit
No sir it will rub the control arms. need to go 11.5 to clear on the upper control arm
@@ProfessorMikee thank you, that's all I needed to know
what about -18mm offset
No, with -18mm you should not go past 33 inch tire
Hey man tag me In covering raptor wheels and 35/12s
😎
Haha found out myself running raptor wheels and 305/70/17s on a 2.5 BDS level no trimming or rubbing
Peace ✌🏼
Isn’t it different if you have a 2wd f150
Yes. 2wd stock trucks are lower than 4wd stock trucks.
@@jmr8835 thought so
2017, 2” level, 17x8.5 0 offset 4.5 backspacing, 35s, think it’ll work?
