    I love to practice with the Twist-Trap Practice Pipes !!! (but without the tenor drone that is a bit noisy to me)

    Sounds like a stand alone instrument not just a practice instrument. Sounds like Smallpipes to me.

      Yeah they do. I'd imagine they work well for social gatherings and indoor stuff, like a cheaper smallpipes. They seem more than a practice instrument.

    I do the same thing but with my big boy I take out the drones and cork the stocks and attach my practice chanter only difference no drone sound...... I have to say I like the set up.

    Its great, Just needs to be cheap enough for an 18 year old to buy it with or without a job.

    I also bought a set. But my problem with them was setting them up. Testing the reeds, so as to use the correct ones for the drones and. The strongest one for the chanter. It didn't help with one of the reeds hemp wasn't tyed in properly. Unfortunately for me they were a great let down. They are still in the bag they came in and ready for sale, but I don't think they will sell.

    What is the song called that they played as a group in the few minutes at the end of the video? Have not found a song that sounds even close to that off of the titles at the end. I assume this is one of their arrangements

    I wonder how much easier in terms of the face muscles around the lips (that get so sore after just 3 minutes when I play the GHB) they are to play than normal highland pipes 50%?. I also have an electronic chanter which may have spoilt me (breath-wise) and they are good for practising

    • @jaredong153
      @jaredong153 5 років тому

      Gavin Mackinney i think it would depend on the size and shape of the mouthpiece. If it's too narrow, you would have to exert more air pressure to get the same volume of air through. If the mouthpiece is too wide, it would be difficult for the lips to form a seal around it, making the lips more sore.
