- Amazing how nature will show you the way if you're watching and listening.. Welcome back to another episode everyone! If youre new to the show we're in extremely remote Cape York in Far Northern Australia. This week we follow that huge crocodile track... Hang on..

Ok, so we're on the bikes, across the salt pans and eventually to a mangrove lined snake drain in the middle of no where that holds some big barramundi. Can we catch Barramundi for dinner? This was a cracker of a day, I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did!

Well done on another bloody awesome episode legend! I’m still blown away by the amazing country we live in, and you guys showcase it so perfectly! Beautiful Barra, what a spot mate! You are lucky guys! Following those croc tracks certainly paid off! I think there is definitely something in that! Obviously moving to find the food! Animals know a lot more about the environment than we do that’s for sure!

Bloody long slides! Often as water levels drop into the dry season crocs will sometimes travel overland to find a more permanent water source, if the crocs are heading the opposite direction away from the creek it is possible that a bigger Croc is pushing the smaller ones out. The other reason I can think of is on the big tides the salt flats might go partially under water, the crocs move out as the tides high and as it drops they need to come back. - Brodie

So I'm from the states and I've been wanting to try this fish that is soo good that you put yourself in croc infested territory to catch them. Well, I was grocery shopping at a Fresh Thyme grocery store and they had Barramundi on sale! So I bought 6 fillets last night I was going to cook them up last night but they were still frozen so I'll cook 'em up tonight. I'm just going to pan fry the fillets with a bit of S&P and dredged in flour.
Another awesome video. I'm super jealous of these adventures and places that you go to, although I could maybe go without the croc risk factor. I look forward to future videos!

Ripper spot again for the 5 season legends! We have been travelling that area for 10 years and found that the crocs cross the salt pans during the wet season or the king tides to access new water ways or because they have been pushed from there territory by a more dominate croc. That large slide has been whilst the salt pan is quite wet so the croc is able to slide on its belly leaving the big fat slide mark. We found that all of those smaller snake drains out across the salt pans are full of bait which bring the Barra in during the wet for breeding and whilst doing so also brings the crocs for a feed!

Thanks for sharing that mate. Glad you've been able to experience this part of Australia too, its amazing. The crocs are amazing creatures hey. They have a level of understanding that is quite amazing when you start researching their movements up and down coastlines etc. crazy
@@WildReaches the crocs have senses we haven’t even discovered yet! To know when to move from a water hole and where to move to next. Like moving 500-1000m across land to another water way is incredible for a 4-5m animal. Can’t wait to see the rest of the season, I’m sure you guys will be heading off shore to the island for some of the unbelievable fishing and history in the area!

Ha yeah not always easy, you can put in a lot of hours and kms before you find them.
Is it my imagination or has Dane come out of his shell this season ?? not camera shy any more ((like i am)i have a great face for radio and a great voice for silent movies but nuff about me LOL) i love the broccoli cant put enough chilli in ... but lose me as soon as tomato stuff goes in !! any way , great sound and video was good ... great episode thanks for sharing!!
Yeah well the last season Dane had never been in front of the camera before. After being able to watch the season he was prepped and pumped for season 5. face for radio 😂

Dane has definitely become more comfortable in front of the camera, a couple of quiet beers in front of the fire always helps the confidence before doing your cooking filming

We didnt have the settings right tho, I can see its just too bright and weird. Oh well, Live and learn. The day certainly felt like it had two parts to it. I hate shortening the episodes and cutting stuff out. I’d rather split them if there’s enough action going on.
8 mins per kg of crab lads, so roughly 6-7 mins for the average crab. Also chuck a tablespoon of honey in the water if ya got it handy
