    I just bought a Big Shot yesterday. As I tried playing with it, following directions, when I turned handle it seemed to be under stress. I was afraid I'd break it. Is there suppose to be resistance??

      Hi I am just wondering how you get on with it now ? I have received one for Christmas and I can't understand why the handle is so hard to turn even my grown son said "that does not seem right " so I am spending all my time playing around with different shims to be able to use it ..Think I should have electric one 😂

    made the correct sandwich and used thinlits in my big shot. Required a lot of force and the new impressions pad has a bend in it. Why?

    Since the die is placed face up, doesn't it cut into the silicone rubber pad?

    So you have to buy those two black sheet, one kinda spongy, the other hard to emboss?

      Your Sizzix sandwich from the bottom up would be: Platform, Cutting Pad, Die (cutting side up) , Silicone Pad, and Impressions Pad.

    Is the impression plate the same thing as the precision plate?

    • @sizzix
      @sizzix  6 років тому +2

      That's a great question! No they're two different things that are meant to be used together. Our Impressions Pad is a durable embossing accessory made specifically for Sizzix Texturz Plates and Silicone Rubber. This pad measures 8 7/8" x 5 7/8" x 1/8" and precisely compensates for the proper pressure and height required for pressing thin material surfaces such as paper, cardstock and foil to make a lasting impression. For added versatility, use Impressions Pad and Silicone Rubber to emboss with any metal stencil including Thinlits Dies.

      Wow! I hope someone has helped you in the last 9 months! This cracking sound is normal. At first it's scary, but later, it is satisfying!

    I may get a tongue lashing, but I bought some "Spellbinder" "Die-D-Lites". Have tried cutting with my Big Shot (the grey and white one) and when I roll the dies through using the "sandwich", the sandwich won't go through and I'm afraid to force it. I have lots of Sizzix dies also, but these were on "special" and I'd read that Big Shot will accommodate other manufacturers' dies. Also, if I am lucky enough to get these to work, can I use the Sizzix Impressions pad and silicone mat on them?

      Rita Decook I have a few different brands and all work well. I have an ornate 3 part die from SB that I used with this technique. It feels like you're going to cut through the silicone but you dont. It embossed a teeny bit deeper than a sizzix brand may have but it didn't cut through, almost tho. It makes really ornate dies just gorgeous. I use the "precision base plate for intricate cuts" and then this method to further emboss, it's so beautiful. I'm the last person who would condone buying an unnecessary accessory, but the precision base plate really id's much nicer for detailed dies.

    Why do you need an impressions pad? When it looks like a cutting plate. Couldn't u just use a cutting plate instead of impressions pad?

    • @sizzix
      @sizzix  7 років тому

      An impressions pad does a number of jobs. In this case it allows you to use the CED as an embossing tool without cutting out the holes. It is also convenient when using an SRD (Bigz) die and it has creases - the give in the impressions pad helps the crease lines not cut through.
