I actually had no idea the blasters were based on real weapons since I'm not really familiar with firearm types. I think it's good to borrow from real-world functional designs, it makes the fictional universe feel a little more grounded and believable. Plus, it's interesting to see some informative content on this neglected lore topic. Not a whole lot of people seem to talk about the equipment the characters use.
A lot of this are a ww2 surplus weapons
@@Randomly_Browsingyeah, like the DC-15/E-11’s Sterling SMG
The prop shop that made the weapon was based in London and had a tone of surplus WW2 weapons on hands.
@@kowell wait it’s still operating?
The FG42's bolt design was also derived from the Lewis gun. As was the M60's. Firearms and Star Wars knowledge take up most my brain 🙃😂.
Good knowledge to have
Forgotten Weapons has some decent videos that go into more detail on this topic. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that WW2 guns look so good in a sci fi setting.
The a280 is actually based on the stg44 scopes variant
At least somebody else knows😂
The S-5 Heavy Blaster Pistol used by the Naboo Palace guards in The Phantom Menace were based on the Feinwerkbau C55 Model Air Gun used by European target shooters. It was modified with a top scope and side scope, an underbarrel dart launcher, and a grappling hook device.
If I’m able I’m gonna build firing replicas. The A280c might be easier than it used to be if PSA follows through with their Shotshow announcement of replica Stg-44s
Basing the blasters off of WW2 guns would make sense, considering the original trilogy was just WW2 in space.
I mean, the empire uses stormtroopers for crying out loud!
There were no stormtroopers in WW2, they are predominantly WW1 related
Star Wars and guns! Two of my favorite things!
And people were bitching about that blaster rifle from "Andor" looking like an AK-47. 😏
By the way, I'm surprised that neither that blaster, nor the WESTAR-35 blaster (which looks a lot like semi-automatic handguns like a glock or desert eagle) made this list. Might be worth making a part 2.
In all honesty if this video does well we will make a part 2 for sure. We are generally more niterested in star wars stories then this type of video so this was kinda expermental because of the sorry state of our channel.
@@TheScoundresCantina Hm. I see. Ok then.
Yoda: "destroy ventress your weapons will not."
Fantastic video! I love the behind the scenes facts on the props and might do a video like this on the lightsabers in the Original Trilogy.
Worrrd
Guns and Star Wars gimme more dopamine 🥴
Missed one Andor's @7:23 looks like a compact AR-15 pistol
Nice to hear the intro again
Surprised the westar 35 was not on the list.
Thanks for making this 👍. while I knew some of these real guns most I'm not familiar with
Really hope you go back to doing longer videos.
Would love to but my perfectionist nature makes making these torture... I've watched this over 50 times before it was finished and wasted 2 weeks on literally nothing. Basically on stuff you guys would never even notice in the video. It's a sickness XD I'm very hard on myself when it comes to makeing something the best I can. It sucks.
Please do a part 2. I loved this.
I think we all could tell that hans blaster is based of a mauser.
I love blaster and gun
i swear the DC-15A Carbine is also called the DC-15S
That's why I really like the star wars weapons because there recreations of real guns
Outstanding video 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Dude the video is 8 minutes long and it was posted 5 minutes ago you haven't even seen all of it yet.
@@Cody357 I actually enjoyed all of Scoundrels Cantina videos
Fascinating video my friend
For anyone who is dying to know what the scattergun (vanguard ability) was based on, it was a spas-12
Great job!
Try add 280CFE inspire the M4 Carbine
Nice!
The NT 42 (I think that’s what it’s called) is based of a Barret M82 50 caliber sniper rifle.
dude ardors blaster looked just like the one guy who made the blaster irl
Hello there sounds so accurate
its back!
Eyyyyyy. Very interesting.
The DC-17 used by arc troopers is quite obviously an oversized Desert eagle
The SE-44 Is a modified glock
Whats about the lightsaber?
Boba fetts blaster is awesome 👌
good video
Sterling-Enfield STEN.
The ST in STEN stand for Shepherd and Turpin, not Sterling.
Sterling had nothing to do with designing the Sten.
only rly stg44 part i can see is barrel othewise looks more like mp5
LL-30
Never will understand the ammunition system from Star Wars
Mg42 blaster but semi automatic 💀
Will never unsee it now
Cassin Andors blaster pistol is based on the lower end of the AR-15 if I remember
preheating
bobs fett was is not a mandalorian
God is Awesome! He is Everything! He is the Force!😊❤
Yes, but which and how many gods, and also... how jealous, or not, @jaredekelman4229 ...?
