Immigration was one of her main assignments. She went to the border, Mexico, and Guatemala, presided over negotiations between the US and Mexico. The “border czar” is not an official position but a media label, debatable is what degree it applies to Harris but it’s not debatable that immigration reform was one of Harris’s main projects as VP.. they touched on all of this in this interview not seeing what part of it is “ignorance.” They specifically said you can debate whether “border czar” is an appropriate label - but that’s an opinion-based term, not a real position, anyway so there’s no wrong answer really.
