Such a beautiful place with great weather. Thanks for sharing.
Love visiting hometowns of famous people. And when it comes to Guinness Book of World Record, Robert Wadlow being the Tallest Man is what stands out to me. Have a great weekend.
I'm from there and there is nothing special about Alton.lol
That is so crazy that he was still growing! What a cool story, thanks for giving us this bit of knowledge!
Working on our storytelling for our channel so glad you enjoyed all the tid bits on the World's Tallest Man!!!!
What a tiny house for a such a tall man. :o How could that massive chair fit into that tiny house. Awesome narration guys - fun, but informative! I loved it! Also, I love you included the historical footage. :)
Yea, this video was a little different where this was more story and narration focus. Currently taking a UA-cam course called CreatorNow and trying to get out of my comfort zone. These positive feedback keeps us wanting to keep making videos.
The intro was absolutely amazing, Carl! I felt like I was watching a show on TV. Gray Job! Such a crazy and sad story. They have some of his things at Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum in MI. Talk about a legacy! Still the world’s tallest man? So cool! Loved this one! And great job with those facts Melissa! 💕❤️
Thank yo so much. Really trying to spice up the beginning of our videos while still providing the same message. I still remember opening up my first Guinness Book of World Record book and seeing him. So to find out he was originally from IL, we had to visit. It was just too bad the museum was closed. He is world's tallest man in history. I don't think it will ever be beaten because they now have treatment so people don't grow crazy (for health reason). Melissa is my history buff of the family and she explains it better than I would.
Just an FYI, no one has broken that record.
I Don't think anyone is beating his record. Dude is build different...literally. All of that old footage was so great to see. Didn't even know that existed. Thanks for this, Carl!
Yea I don't think so either. They actually have medication now so a person doesn't continue to grow indefinitely. On our channel, we love to show folks interesting places that most people have not heard of. It's been great having you on Team13 and thanks or stopping by!!!!
The opening door transition is so cool. You are getting better at editing all the time. This is a cool bit of history. I imagine Robert Wadlow's life was pretty complicated and often uncomfortable. It is cool that he kept such a positive attitude. Thanks for taking us along on your travels!
Trying to spice it up in the beginning of each video. Really appreciate the kind words, it means a lot because those 10 second transitions have taken me about 2 hours to do. Doing research on him, he was in a lot of pain, poor guy. But he got to travel the world and that was his favorite part. We should all take notes on having positive attitude from Robert Wadlow for sure.
The Alton Giant is one of those things I grew up with my whole life, but never knew until I was an adult how unique he was. You were right in my neck of the woods again
I remember as a kid opening up the Guinness Book of World Records and seeing his picture!!!! Sticks to my brain up to now. I'll be back in the area in 2 weeks. DM me your number and we can maybe grab lunch at Cozy Dog. I filmed there before but my SD card got corrupted and I have been meaning to re-do it. But I have tried to go twice but has been closed both times.
@@SantosChronicles Although he became an international celebrity, he still remained connected to the local community (he was a member of the local Masons and his actual chair is still in the Mason Lodge). I'll DM you a message on Instagram; not sure if or how to do it on UA-cam. Cozy Dog! No way! One of my videos next week is on Cozy Dog!
@@adventuresintvland LOL. I got your DM. We’ll figure something out.
Love the family doing things together. That's what it's all about. Great vlog!!!
Exactly, plus when we are out, we are not stuck on our electronics!!! Glad you liked our video.
Wow! Nearly 9 feet! It was very cool to see the old footage of him when he was living. Feet the size of three little kids' feet, wow!
The guy seemed like the nicest guy in the world and he made the most of it while he was a live. Such a tragedy that Giants do not grow old because of their conditions.
So sad. He was only 22 when he died. Wow! And to die from a sore on his foot that now a days could have been cured. Thanks for sharing this. You always show me things I never knew existed.
Ever since I was in grade school I have been fascinated by him. Didn't realize he died so young. When I found out this town was only a few hours away, we had to visit.
This was fascinating. I imagine it must have been painful for him as he was continually growing. Really liked your door transition at the beginning!
That door transition is something I have been looking forward to do. I bet if you got back doing weekly videos, those transitions would suck you in. But just beware that you might lose an additional 2-4 hours of your life each time.
Wow, wow, wow! Look at that mask opening the door to the world!!
Yas, yas, yas!! Carl is mastering the editing process!! LOVE IT!!!
It was my first attempt and I was proud of my first try. Thank you so much. Out of all the channels, you guys inspire me with all your special effects and transitions. I have a new appreciation with masking having to go frame for frame. The trick of speeding it up 300% really helped and cut down the workflow.
I love the production value in your channel. Everything I’ve seen you do has been entertaining as well. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Thank you for the kind words. Comments like this keeps us going.
look at thaaaat!! good masking the door!! I love that you take one step up in every video!
it's fun to learn FCPX, right?? 😉
Final Cut Pro has been so fun and learning a new effect for each video. Only bad part is that it adds 2-4 hours additional editing time. But the results are so fun, glad you liked it.
That’s so neat to see! I wrote you on IG !
This place has been in our list for quite a while.
Love the editing and the transitions, as always I love your energy! Your videos make me happy😋
Thanks so much for the support and watching the channel. Heard you flew somewhere, where did you go? How are you liking CreatorNow?
Nice and interesting video, now I know the tallest man on earth. Thanks for sharing.
I have always been fascinated with him as a person!!!! Really cool to be walking around his hometown for sure.
So cool!! I can't imagine seeing someone that tall! Also love the editing!
Thanks so much. Trying to do more cool transition at the beginning of our videos to catch the audience eye. I love doing it and glad people are enjoying it.
we had no idea he was the tallest man ever! thanks for sharing this kind of videos and info!! 👍
Best part was learning that the World's Tallest Man lived at our home state of IL.
I love this kind of thing. Wadlow and Ripley are two interesting Roberts.
Agreed!!! I knew of Robert Wadlow but just recently did I discover he was from our home state of IL.
Oh wow!!! So tall! Lol... Melissa's foot looks tiny compared to his 🤣 Nice transition at the beginning! Lol... I would have second thoughts about the grave too 🤣 Great vlog!! See you soon!
- Ashley from Adventure Encounters
I have always been fascinated by this guy since I opened my first Guinness Book of World Record. That grave hunt was like a 2 hour ordeal. Wish I filmed more of it. Lots of should we or should we not. We ate lunch, researched in the parking lot and our saving grace was Pokemon. Love technology. I just moved to final cut pro so I have been experimenting with different things in the beginning of our videos.
He's like 3 times Rosalie's size. Didn't know about that conditions. Glad they built him a chair. You guys dis a great job honoring the gentle giant. Very nice story guys.
For things that really interest me, I'm trying to share this with our viewers. Such an amazing man and crazy he is from this small town in IL.
A truly magnificent video by you. To be able to watch your video has changed my day. Thank you dear friend
Thank you so much!!! Comments like this keeps us going.
That turned out so cool!!!! I like the door effect!
If you heard footsteps while you were sleeping, that was what I was doing 😂
Almost 9 ft? Wow, he was tall!
You can tell he was a good guy by his face. Nice vid my friend! 😀👍
Yea, he seemed like a guy who enjoyed life even though he knew he had a short life span. As the movie "My Giant" said, you don't see old giants.
Never knew the tallest man in the world lived in Illinois, really informative video.
I saw him the Guinness Book of World Record as a kid and always have been fascinated. When I found out he was from IL, we had to make a trek to his home town. Just wish the museum was open when we went. Can't wait to see you when you come to IL.
Great job! Good info and I liked the old footage you added.
I have been fascinated over this guy since I was a little kid.
Yes! I've heard stories about this man! So cool of you guys to actually see it in person, his statue, his chair, even his gravestone. Pokemon to save the day lol.. imagine we were that tall. We are known to be short lol.. enjoyed this one guys!
Dude, I really need to use Pokemon more, it was so much easier than finding it on a regular map. Yea, Filipinos think everyone else is giant. Such an interesting guy and just wish the museum was open but it was closed for Labor Day.
what a heartbreaking story.a beautifully warm, gentle respectful person.living to reach an absolutely unthinkable height.two and a half feet taller than many giants.
I completely agree with you. The guy was a celebrity that really didn't fit in to the regular world. Would have been so cool to meet him. Thank you watching.
Wow he was so tall ! This is a rare condition. Hit must have been difficult for him. Very interesting video I learned a lot today.
Yea, it was crazy how tall he was. It's good though now that folks can take something so their body doesn't grow uncontrollably like his was. Thanks for watching.
O wow still growing at his death. Cool video. Very interesting.
I don't think I have grown since middle school. I needed some of that high from Mr. Wadlow!!!!
Completely agree. You can't learn everything from books. You have top get out there and explore. Plus, it's fun. Oh wow, that's a super tiny house. He needed to customize something.
Yea, it was super tiny house for a guy who was almost 9 feet tall. But I think that was a regular size house back in the day. We love visiting new places and learning by going. Thanks for joining us.
Very enjoyable to watch, thank you! Xmas - greetings from Austria XD
Thank you very much! Hope you have a Happy New Year!
Carl, my man! You’re definitely are becoming a master of edition! 🙌
I want to start learning new tricks, but for now it’s out of the question. I’m trying to get going my new business and I have not time. Heck! I just posted my video instead of Friday. Anyways, for now I enjoy yours!
Thank you. Makes those additional 1-3 hours of work for 15 seconds. It is so fun so I'm glad everyone is enjoying it. I'm still learning. Good luck with your new business. What type of business are you doing?
Awesome 😎 I didn’t see his grave. Good luck 👍 my Robert Waldo video has done very very well 👍 Did you go to the museum across the street? I got a very interesting tour.
Dude, we were looking for it, ate lunch, spent another 30-45 trying to figure out what to do. It was not an easy find but the trick is download the Pokemon App and just follow the map. Hopefully your version rubs off on our version. I was so bummed that we didn't get to go to the museum. Closed of course. It was Labor Day weekend.
@@SantosChronicles I should have known it was closed 😂
Right off the bat this is coool!!!!
Hey Jpilot, we have been following Carl for a long time
Hey Jacob!!! Glad you liked our effect at the intro. Trying to add more of that for each of our video.
Thanka for showing me a new place
You are very welcome. Anything World's Tallest or World's Largest, our family is in.
Well done on that opening masking!!! Woo hoo!! Just coming back to UA-cam and catching up on vids 👋❤️
This was my intro to masking. A great tip to speed up the footage so there would be less masking. Glad you were able to get away from work.
The transition of the door at the beginning is so amazing! The world tallest man, is so amazing. A great video.
I was so excited to try that transition out and so glad to hear you enjoyed it. I spent 2 hours on that 10 second clip 🤣 I have always been fascinated by The World's Tallest Man.
Really injoy catching up with your new uploads all the hard work you put in top job keep safe your brother tyson and see you at the next 👍
Thanks so much, trying to change the format a little bit. Thank you so much for watching our video and hope you have a great weekend.
I remember the first time I seen a replica of him at the Ripley's Believe It or Not in Gatlinburg when I was a kid. Absolutely amazing could not imagine being that tall even at 6'2 that still makes me look like a little kid lol. Thanks for sharing!
I always love going to see the stuff in front of the Ripley's Believe it or Not but I don't think I have ever gone in. New goal in lie for me. I remember first seeing him in thee Guinness Book of World Record. Him and the guy with the long nails are the top 2 in my opinion.
@@SantosChronicles yeah that guy was creepy had to keep them in a bag lol
So great to see your family exploring Illinois and visiting this place. One of us is from Chicago and is here now! Found you guys through Extravellganza! Didn't know there was so much about this guy, but have heard of him before! Thanks for sharing your adventure!
We are from the northwest suburbs of IL and love to travel the midwest. We love Extravellganza and even went to Alabama to see the Island full of goats from the movie Big Fish because of them. Where are you guys from?
Great effects again!! A blister!!? At 22? That stinks!! It's crazy what can take us out!! Good use of flashbacks there too. Way to be persistent and find your location! Going the extra mile to show us weird and wacky places!! 😀
Thank you so much. I'm really enjoy creating these effects for the beginning of the video. Like that movie "My Giant" said, when is the last time you saw an old giant. I was not sure if that cemetery scene was going to make it. That was like a 2 hour ordeal with us even taking a lunch break. It was like where's Waldo.
I was born and raised in Alton, Illinois and am one of those kiddos that could say my Grandma went to school with Robert.
That is amazing. It is a really cute town and wish we had more time to explore. So cool that your Grandma went to School with Robert. Thank you for watching.
@SantosChronicles
Next time you are there. Go to Duke's Bakery. They have THE best donut holes ever. I live in Missouri now but still close enough to go grab some when I am home sick.
@SantosChronicles
Also do a story on the Piasa Bird. That is fun info they made is learn in school
@@lady1attitude856 Will have to try that next time we are there. Thanks again for watching.
Love the Santos Chronicles shirt my friend!!! 13 yrs old and over 7 foot tall? love the old classic footage too!!!!! 2:50 BIG FEET!!!
Everything about this man was so big. I still remember opening my Guinness Book of World Records Book and seeing him. So it was cool to go to his home town. Can you believe Woodley got the "I Love Jake Paul" tattoo?
@@SantosChronicles haha what body part? Lol Diaz wasn’t in shape, that’s for sure.
@@KaisDinoAdventures Woodley got the Tattoo on his middle finger. And yea, it wasn’t the same seeing an out of shape Nick Diaz.
Awesome video always connect you
Thanks so much
Wow this is crazy he was crazy tall aye!! 3 kids feet to make one of his haha!!! Wow must be so hard to still be growing can’t believe he died from a blister!!!! I never knew that!!! Pokémon helped you find the grave stone sounds like a movie!!! awesome vlog Carl abs fam!! :)
Yea, he was almost 2 times my hight - crazy!!!! Seriously, that Pokemon hack was key. We would have been looking for quite awhile without that. Thanks for joining us ladies!!!!
wow, i didn't know if this Find a grave website!! interesting!!
We have only gone to a few famous graves but now I have a place to go.
I had no idea he was from IL! So cool!
Such an iconic guy and it was cool to see where he grew up. Couldn't imagine being that tall.
Top show today santos
I think you may be one of the longest running return viewer on our channel. I If you are interested, DM us on Instagram or Facebook and we would love to send you a postcard!!!!!
Wow that guy was really tall..
Wish he gave me an extra foot.
so tall! a bit scary if you see him at night in the middle of a rain storm!
(catch the reference? 😉)
I would run for sure!!!
Smart idea using the Uranus footage!
I had a gut feeling we were going to end up in Alton so I shot that footage knowing it would be part of this video.
Wow 😯 what a great episode. Loved the special effect of the door opening Carl. You put this video together very well in the Tallest Man. Well done 👍🏽
So glad you liked it. All those extra hours for those effects makes it worth it with comments like this. I just finished my 6 weeks CreatorNow Course, which was amazing but also very time consuming. I'm back and will be more active also. Congrats on the 1K, such a big deal!!!!! You really do deserve it!!!
@@SantosChronicles Thanks Carl, I'm sorry you couldn't be one of my collaborators. But when I get and if I get to 2K I will be knocking on your door. You have been one of my favourite channels.
Have a great evening. 🙏🏽👍🏽🤗❤️
can't imagine the work he would give to tailors and shoemakers!! 😂
Luckily he had a shoe deal so they made him his own custom shoes.
Robert Wadlow is my second cousin once removed and I grew up hearing so many stories about him and seeing his shoe at the Madison County History Museum.
That is amazing also. Are you tall also? I agree, seeing his real shoe was crazy. Can't just go to Foot Locker to get new shoes. Thanks for sharing. Really cool you are related to him.
Always an adventure 😃Jenn
We try!!! Where ever we go I turn on our Roadside America App. So fun to see history come alive.
I'm 5'4". Robert was my height in first grade!! Can you image someone that big in 1st grade?! WOW!!!
Yea that would be crazy. I’m 5’ 5” know what you mean. Couldn’t believe small the house he use to live at.
what did they feed him?? it's crazy grew this tall!!!
He had to eat a lot since his metabolism had to be going crazy.
His record will more than likely never be broken.
Yea, that's what we heard. Medication keeps this from happening now a days. Thanks for stopping by.
Carl! You are killing me with these opening segments. Where do you come up with these. This was an interesting one. We visited the tallest couples graves. Ha ha ha we are cut from the same cloth. I love the old videos of him.
I'm so happy to hear how much like those effects I have been putting in the beginning of each video the past month. I spent about 2 hours last night with that effect, I wasn't sure if it was going to make it. I have about a list of 10 I want to do. Tallest Couples Grave, where is that - I have never heard of them. You are right, we totally are cut from the same cloth. Thanks for watching friend!!!!
I can’t believe how tall he was!!
He was like double of us.
Never heard of him before but wow, he was tall indeed. He continued growing after he died? That's insane. He has an exhibit too? That's incredible.
Yea, he was tallest man in history and I don't think anyone will beat it because they now have medication to control this condition. They actually have a museum but it was closed since we went there during Labor Day. I remember seeing him in Guinness Book of World Record so when I found out he was from IL, I had to check it out.
Lovely tribute to a lovely person. I am also a person that needs to visit the graves as well. In Vienna I had to see the graves of Beethoven et al. I was on a bicycle and rode around and around this huge cemetery. But eventually found it! Well worth it 👍🥰
I always feel weird going to grave sites of famous people but it is to honor them since they have gone to a better place. Oh wow Beethoven's grave, that's awesome. Seriously, download Pokemon and you can follow it.
They have statues of him at Ripley’s all over the world. I’ve met him several times.
I'm surprised our family has never went int to a Ripley's museum. Totally our type of place also. Robert was a living legend back then.
Robert Wadlow was so big that there are now UA-cam videos that use him as an example of a tall animal and not just a tall man!
What!?! Now that's weird way to describe a man. He has always fascinated me for sure. Seems like you are a huge Robert Wadlow fan. Any documentaries you would suggest?
Hard to imagine how tall he was until you stand next to a statue of him!
I was literally half the man he was!!!
Lots of interesting info in this one. Seems he made the best of his condition and moved forward.
He will most likely remain the tallest man - the condition is treated now.
Awesome special effects!
Trying to work on my storytelling for the channel. So always experimenting here and there with the channel. This guy has amazed me since I opened up my first Guinness Book of World Record. So it was cool to go to his home town. Too bad the museum was closed since we went there during Labor Day. Trying to add a new special effect each video. Adds another 2-4 hours of editing for 10 seconds but totally love doing it.
@@SantosChronicles no one understands the editing time unless they’ve done it!
Haha 3 short Filipino kids to fit his shoes. I love it! 🤣
Yea, gotta have the Filipino Math 😂
"I was hoping to reach 5'10" 😂😂😂😂, even I am a midget next to Robert and I am 6'1 and a half.
Dude, I didn't realize how tall you were until I saw Vern and Maria & Nabol next to you. You'll look extra tall next to our family.
Oh my God that transition at the start was epic!! I actually saw a statue of the worlds tallest man too in a Madame Tussauds, he is huge!!! He still kept growing even after his death?! 😱 How on earth did they find that out! I'm 5'9 😆 Thats cool that he got his own chair made. Found this one really interesting, some great info in there!! Thanks for sharing..and sorry I haven't been as active on UA-cam...just about to watch the rest of your videos I have missed 😊
No problem at all!!! We all deserve a little break.. I think you guys are traveling. How was your trip. Just getting back on the comments now. I was part of an intense 6 week course for UA-cam and it was so fun!!! Glad you are liking the transitions. Trying to add some in the begining. They are fun to do but usually take me 2-4 hours since I'm still learning. Hope you have a great weekend.
O homem mais alto de todos os tempos que está História 👏merece sempre ser lembrado pela sua grande simpatia

Thanks for watching.
Must’ve been really good at basketball
Crazy when you can dunk without having to jump.
CreatorNow community let's go!!!
How have you liked CreatorNow. I have really enjoyed it and has pushed me past my comfort zone.
@@SantosChronicles I’ve really enjoyed it too - the community is the best part!!
based on videos i've seen the statue actually is unrealistically small in some ways. for example his hands appear more proportionately normal on the statue than they are in the videos, where they are a bit disproportionately big even for his size - monstrously huge. there's vids of him picking up his baby brother and the kid almost disappears in his hands.
That’s crazy considering the statue looked huge. He was truly one of a kind. Thanks for sharing. I am just so fascinated by his story.
This dude still teleporting! Another great video I feel like being Asian everybody taller lol
You are right, it just matters how much taller. So glad you are digging the new effects!!!!
Did you notice the freemason symbol on his grave? I am sure they book quite an interest in him. Loved the old footage you were able to find of him. Shame he died so young, but I have a feeling that with unusual body proportions like that, other things may have started to go wrong internally if he lived to be older.
I did notice and had in the video at first and decided to cut it out. I didn't know too much about the freemason so I figured I should leave it out. Yea, with Giants they all tend to die in a young age because your body isn't suppose to grow that fast. In the movie "My Giant" they said that is why you don't see old giants.
3:42 bro hit the wrong emote 💀
Appreciate you stopping by.
9 feet??? That is like the average height here in Serbia 🤣🤣🤣🤣 just kidding!
Wow, he was still growing? that is incredible, I am 5'5" too!! Lieles is 6'1"
3 short filipino kids hahaha
He died young. Wonder if anyone in his family has the same illness or if there is a treatment these days for it.
Really interesting story, family!!
Much love!
Only if you guys are here, PogiBoys will be in town in a couple of weeks. I need Lieles on my team for UA-cam Basketball!!!! In the movie "My Giant" they said "that is why you don't see Old giants" I believe everyone else was regular size from what I read.
@@SantosChronicles hahaha i would send him to you but Nala is obsessed with him, don't think she would let him go 😂
I'd just like to be 6 feet tall. Poor guy only lived 22 years.
There was a movie call "My Giant" and Billy Crystal said, "That's the reason you don't see old giants"
Finding a gravestone with the help of Pokémon. Because 2021.
We 100% would have just gone home, it was a game changer!!! It seriously was a needle in a haystack. Not like KFC Founder with a huge yellow line to help find it.
